AYEKA SR1

Frank Skillington

I am using the SR1 bought through GEO some years ago mostly through the day time only. Until recently when switched on the lock 1 led would change from red to green within a minute or so. Now after the initial switch on I have to disconnect the power , wait 10 seconds and then reconnect the power and the led changes from red to green within 30 seconds. Otherwise the unit is functioning correctly. Has anyone experienced this same problem or have any idea if this is a fault or potential problem brewing?

Regards

Frank

A few people have needed to replace the power supply. A number of us have tried to keep down the heat on the unit:

Replacement PSUs can be bought on Amazon: 12V 2A, but I can't confirm the connector size.

Cheers,

Frank,

I agree with David.
I'm on my 3rd power supply for the SR1.

I'm now using a pro-elec 12 V, 3 A power supply from CPC.

And I also mount my SR1 'sideways' and tilted so the air can flow through the ventilation slots.
In summer I place it on a computer fan as it can get very hot.

Regards,
John.

Thanks to you all for your helpful suggestions. I checked the voltage of the existing power unit on load and found it to be struggling to get to 6 volts! I then connected the SR1 to my 12 volt supply I use for my transceivers and the green led came on within 30 seconds so problem solved. I've ordered a replacement power unit from amazon this morning.
