Everything else is running wonderfully and it is great seeing
animations from around the world (MSG4 0E/360E, MSG2 40E, FY2H 80E,
FY2G 100E, Himawari 140E,

First check you are running the recent MSG Data Manager:

Next check directory protections, perhaps the "Saved raw data" location?

Since the change of name to MPEF data the processing path has altered
slightly, so perhaps it's a file protection issue, or you have other programs
eating the data before it can be renamed.

I spent some time with Ferdinand Valk recently on a similar issue, but I
thought that this was resolved in the current version.
