For your information:
xrit2pic now also supports hdf5 format. Tested on GOES-16.

'True colour', using M6C01/M6C02/M6C03,  mapped according to:

doesn't give the right results, propably some preprocessing is needed before using the raw data...?

Linux and Windows executables available, also for command-line only use.
