I find nothing similar on Hot Bird 13° East


Would expect your plate works better on the western side.
Does your toroidal with subreflector know left from right?

Arne,

BDADataEx support dynamic modcode selection for APSK. So if SNR < threshold - APSK disabled.
So you can set threshold ~10dB and receive BS+HVS1. When SNR < 10dB only QPSK/8PSK allowed and you can continue receive BS without errors.

But now only 6903 and 5927 beta drivers support dynamic MODCODE selection.
Current 6983 driver allow modcode selection on tune request only. Need fix it + improve signal statistic (like 6903 beta driver) + reduce TS buffer.

I have been running two instances of BDADataEx 1.1.4.5 on my TBS 6983 for months with excellent results and stability.

Currently running 11263MHz BAS+HVS-1 modcod on tuner A and 11263 BAS only modcod on tuner B.

Ask TBS support about 5927 beta driver with reduced TS buffering (32 instead 512 pkts). This must improve HVS2 reception.

No problem every day are coming new ssd disks faster and more capacity, I
just see the images I conform, then delete them completely, I ordered two
ssd discs of 1tb only for the data of metosat and hvs-1 And hvs-2.The 500gb
disk only for windows 10.

If your PC has a PCIe slot, though, an even better solution for HVS-1 and BS () is one of the dual-tuner cards with BS on one tuner and BS+HVS1 or just HVS-1 on the other tuner. In that way, low signal strength affecting HVS-1 will not also affect the BS. Arne van Belle is testing such an arrangement right now.

use TBS receivers you should now see a significant change.

A welcome fix from EUMETSAT.

I have seen one gap in the T2 data stream (as seen in the Windows Task Manager), but no missed files since 10:07 yesterday (already reported to EUMETSAT). The "disconnect from announcement channel" messages have gone.

Device: TBS6903
Configuration: Single cable, dual inputs
Driver: Windows beta from TBS 2017-07-07
Software: BDADataEx 1.1.4.1409

Just as a note, the Ayecka SR1 works correctly on HVS-2 and always has done.

Using two TBS5925 here without any heat problems. I suggest mounting them slightly raised or vertically in an air flow, as seen here for the SR1:

If you can, use a PCIe card instead such as the TBS6903. Check whether the noise level from the TBS5927 is acceptable before purchase.

Since yesterday T2 has no transmission gaps anymore. If you
use TBS receivers you should now see a significant change.


T2 USB receivers work now (at least under GNU/Linux they do)


T2 PCIe cards work fine depending on the size of the driver DMA
buffers and the minimum traffic that EUMETSAT maintains. There
might still be some fine tuning here. I have no idea about the
current DMA buffer sizes used under Windows but it seems there
has been beta testing with different sizes. For GNU/Linux I have:


Receiver Europa
Debian 9 with TBS-6908/03 OS driver and PCIe DMA buffer size set
in TBSECP3 driver module to 32 MPE packets (for T2) works fine.


Receicer Ganymed
Debian 7 with TBS-6908/03 TBS old semi closed source driver
from Konstantin Dimitrov using a DMA buffer size of 256 MPE
packets. This DMA buffer size still produces missed and all
recovered packets but it generally works now. The driver can be
compiled with a smaller DMA buffer size (ECP3 code is available).


If you run an EUMETCast GNU/Linux receiver with a TBS-6925
or TBS-6983 you might have less luck with T2 at the moment.


If you receive T2 under Windows or GNU/Linux please report
resulting improvements. This may help EUMETSAT to fine tune.
Please do always report TBS device and driver version used.

Transponder 2.

Looks as if the Transponder 2 problems for those running TBS hardware
have been resolved by Eumetsat (not TBS !).
I am not seeing any lost data this morning (tmp folders).
I was unable to run Transponder 2 yesterday due to bad weather as my SNR
on T2 is still about 0.8 down on T1.
Looking at the graphs of others it seems the improvement started
yesterday.

Though I never setup an EUMETCast receiver under Windows here some first hints.


1) Make sure you have the right signal. If you really get it from West of Eutelsat 9 this is probably not EUMETCast. I assume you look for EUMETCast Europe Transponder 1 with BAS/HVS-1. See:

2) You can try to identify your transponder with a tool that schows PIDs. You should see PIDs from this list:

3) You either need IP tool or CrazyCats BDA DataEx. IP addresses in the range of 192.168.238.xxx are fine. As you have a TBS-6903 (not 9603) PCIe card you do not have to fiddle with your 10.x.x.x network. Check:
