Re: R: Re: Again Yellow "T" icon

Hi Enzoy,
well that is good news - a pink T indicates that everything is working OK, at least for a short time!!
My answers are:-
a) I would leave the log level at verbose until you have a stable system and the T stays pink. It might well give you more clues about the problem.
As far as I know having verbose logging on for a while does not cause any problems.

b) "TSL Announcement Channel": Lost message....." is a problem though.
It can be caused by bad signal strength/quality (dish/LNB adjustment) and/or cable problem from LNB to receiver - what signal strength/quality is showing in your DVB World programme?
I'm not sure which receiver and software you are using but hopefully it will give you an indication.
Could it be bad weather related??

c) Lost messages can also be caused by not using a RAM disk - are you using one and is it correctly specified in recv.ini [locations] section ??
What size is it and how many .fsy files do you have in it, after you've been running for a while?

d) I believe that if you see the .fsy files growing quickly in size and number that could also indicate disk I/O problems (i.e. your hard disk cannot keep up with the flow of data) but I'm not sure on that - someone more knowledgeable may be able to comment.

e) When you checked the EKU functionality, did you find any problems? Is it flashing now ??

Hope this helps
Nigel

I'm only mentioning things that have caught me out, in the past!! I
believe you've had your system running OK in the past so, hopefully
you're familiar with all the required settings.

The fact that your EKU is not, occasionally, flashing is perhaps the
best clue - on both my systems it flashes once or twice every few seconds.
There is a way to check that the windows EKU service is running
correctly but I cannot remember the detail for Windows - I'm sure David
has it detailed somewhere on his pages.
I'll try and find it for you, a bit later on.

If there is no reply then either the IP address is not set correctly or you still have another firewall blocking.

Run from command prompt: ipconfig /all
and check that the Technisat DVB interface does have 192.168.238.238 as IP addres.

Apart from the Windows firewall , there could be other firewalls (as part of virus scanner for example) active on your PC.

Hi Enzo,
is there nothing more, after the "tc-recv.exe running" line ??
Also, the line before that says " Log level is "normal"" - how did you
make the change to "verbose" ??
It can be done in your recv.ini file _or_ at the top of the log page of
the HTML shell.
Also at the top of HTML shell pages, there is a line showing Status -
what does yours say??
On the "Active Channels" page, what does the line for "TSL Announcement
Channel" show ??
On the "License" page, is your user_name absolutely correct and do you
have 4 groups of 4 stars against host_key_4 ??

I'm only mentioning things that have caught me out, in the past!! I
believe you've had your system running OK in the past so, hopefully
you're familiar with all the required settings.

The fact that your EKU is not, occasionally, flashing is perhaps the
best clue - on both my systems it flashes once or twice every few seconds.
There is a way to check that the windows EKU service is running
correctly but I cannot remember the detail for Windows - I'm sure David
has it detailed somewhere on his pages.
I'll try and find it for you, a bit later on.

Thank you for your kind interest, Alan.
I run an old Acer Aspire T 160 PC and recently replaced its installed XP home by XP professional. This change results in a permanent error - an audio controller for multimedia seems to be
missing- and I am unable to find the right driver for it. Since then I have had first this flood of yellow T s which I managed to stop and now I face a permanent single yellow T.
I have been so far unable to find out what causes it.
Hence my hope to find a solution via some good advice.
Probably I overburden myself and this old PC by running more than a mere handful of programmes on the latter.
Perhaps Alan would you be so kind as to analyse my situation and tell me still what or which are typical blunders resulting in a frozen yellow T ?

Metop-B is OK, and I have set new istance of MDM for

Giuseppe MSG-3 data comes in on EUMETCAST Data Channel 15. You will

This will
