The TFTP thing made no difference so id better untick it again ( dont want to bugger things up more). And James after fail i closed and immediatelty started again

it did searching for required files and now its applying changes ( taking ages). I hope i can undo this if it doesnt work

Just one thing to point out Philip, when you click on Einstein once and it fails close and immediately try again.
Also once one device has taken over the port then others can’t access it.

Just a thought does telnet use port23 and if so how do i find out if its there and allowing access. i cant even find port23 in comodo firewall settings . I may be getting out of my knowledge depth

When i click on the console i can see all 3 dials showing data incoming and in to my software . I click on einstein and see my device ip address which is

Here as requested are all the ip addresses on the windows8.1 computer and the SR1 ip address is 192.168.10.99.
To me they are on the same network

i can PING the SR1 from my windows8.1computer
but only when i have the USB to serial adapter attached. It does not PING using ethernet to ethernet
