last type then must go
i can PING the SR1 from my windows8.1computer
but only when i have the USB to serial adapter attached. It does not PING using ethernet to ethernet

there was someone named Nigel Evans ( I think )when i originally purchased the SR1 from GEO, and through TeamViewer he was very helpful and really helped me get going. I wish he was available
