I have the 'mixed case' version in received.ini.

I will try installing the latest beta of MSG DM later today, and see
if that helps.
It won't. The latest published release contains full support for the new messages. The beta only adds an older message purge. Perhaps you need to check with EUMETSAT, although I thought everyone got these messages.

I will stop hankering after MTSAT HRIT!

No need - you can download MTSAT HRIT data from the Chinese Met Agency Web site (registration needed, and ask for one of the larger data limits).

http://satellite.cma.gov.cn/eng/index.do

A download manager is recommended to allow parallel downloads of the data, otherwise it can be a bit slow!

I don't know whether it matters, but my recv-channels.ini entry is in
Mixed Case:

Hello Giuseppe,

There was a problem I gather with the uplink being lost ~ 11:00 (BST/GMT?)
and I saw this on some HRIT channels.
It was clear sky here at that time.

Hi John,
what I found strange is different behaviour at 11-11.30gmt of my two
systems feed with same dish:
http://www.bcico.com/meteo_page/mrtg/mrtg_1.htm .
Really they are on different output of a dual-LNB... so I guessed about
retuning problems on different card-cable-LNBoutput chain.
BTW I've set my receiving systems to GMT so events are always related to a
standard time.
Have a nice evening, ciao

Giuseppe

This shows the extent of the storm you've been having:-

and this lot over Germany:-

John,

I suggest reporting this to EUMETSAT.

I've already made a note of this in my own informal daily reports, and I see that EUMETSAT themselves have reported problems with the Ku-band service. I didn't gather whether they had problems with the actual MSG downlinks.

I suspect the Eurobird-9A uplink may not have as much margin as the old Hotbird-6 one did.
