Using a RAM disk

I have installed the Dataram RAM Disk described in the last issue
GEO Quarterly n° 24 December 2009.
I'm using Windows XP and have to change the "System Restore" to prevent problems.
But I don't know how I have to change the "System Restore settings".
Can someone tell me what I have to do so I can work without problems with the Dataram RAM Disk.
There is an article written by Arne van Belle in the september 2006 GEO Quarterly issue but but I was not a member at that time.

No improvement so it is likely the way it is compressed to be sent over.
The size of the 1km high res. full disc file demonstrates this.
Still good to have the data back.

No it has not been available now for about 36 hours. The Weekly Operations Report did originally suggest that the switch over from FY2C to FY2E could mean no data for about 3/4 weeks, but an update indicates that some data may be sent but may not be of " nominal " quality.

Hopefully some data will be available fairly soon.

Goeff, you may need to run the ROUTE ADD command as administrator. The
other thing I've taken to doing recently is to remove the IPv6 protocol
from the DVB World box - to stop Windows taking an IPv6 route rather than
the IPv4 route the software expects. Might be worth a try. I think Ian
Deans is running with 64-bit Windows-7.

ROUTE PRINT should give a result similar to:

Persistent Routes:
Network Address Netmask Gateway Address Metric
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.10 Default
224.0.0.0 240.0.0.0 192.168.238.238 1
===========================================================

although your 192.168.0.10 address will be different (it's my router).
The IPv6 route table should have no persistent routes.

My comments are more in hope than real belief as it is a bit naughty to have
FY2C data in FY2E file names.

It may be marked as FY-2E but I have my doubts. The high res 1km data
still has the line issue (FY-2C has detectors out).
If it is 2E then it is every bit as bad as 2C. Perhaps it is the way the
Chinese compress and send it to Eumetsat.
Disappointing.

As far as I can tell all the firewall, permission setting etc. are ok. Network conections to other PC's work all the time, as does the internet connection. After deleting the route, I was left with a persistant route of "0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.238.238"
Running the RC 7 64bit version of windows. Its on a seperate partion on one of the drives, and as far as I can tell, everything else works as it should do. Any thought, suggestions most welcome. My thought at the moment is XP forever...!!
