AMSU-A/AMSU-B/HIRS
seggins2000 <seggins2000@...>
David,
I have not received any of these since 11/02. I am suspicious that this lack coincides with my change of user name and password. I was receiving them before. Am I correct? In addition, the received directory of the T-systems folder has empty, dated, directories in it. The last ATOVS were in the main received directory and the dated directories, although updated, remained steadfastly empty. I have cut and pasted them into "11" directory. If the boxes in the MPEF section of data manager are checked where does the program put the precessed files and how can I study the results? (they are all being received). Regards John Say |

Tks David, understood, that thing abt the date of issue was only
after a week from home the first thing I do is to check on your site if there is any change of the programs e.g. the Beta's, after that I check the messages in the list, so when dates are there you can see immediately if there was any change during your absence. Not important of course. OK David tks as always for your fine work. You are the first person to report that. The settings are held in the "current user" section of the registry, so should work whether you are logged in as an Admin or a regular user. Possibly you may need to be logged in as Admin for the initial installtion. Perhaps delete the registry branch: HKCU\Software\David J Taylor\MsgDataManager and re-enter everything? Including the licence code. I think you _must_ get the program to save its settings correctly before proceeding. Cheers, David |

MDM saves settings in the registry so you must have administrator rights added to your account (W2K and XP). Hope this helps. Greetings, Arne van Belle |

reinstalling

David I am just getting going again after having to do a clean reinstall of my
O/S. Not something I every want to do again! I hoped I might be able to save my GSS and MDM folders so that when I reinstalled the software I would have all my settings available. this, it seems, was wishful thinking. But MDM is not working; it quickly slips into a 'Program not responding' mode and even in its earliest minutes before this happens it is not holding the settings I am entering (file locations etc) Any thoughts on this? I must confess I was also a little confused over the instructions.

The procedure that I found works:- 1) If you have put the EKU into your USB port - take it out again! 2) Load the CD Rom into disk drive. 3) Open folder 'EKU_software' 4)Double click 'eTokenRTE.msi' 5) Put your EKU into the USB port 6)Double click 't-systemssetup.exe' in the Tellique folder 7) During the installation a screen appears which asks for your User name & Password - enter the details EXACTLY as on your email. (User Key=Password) 8) Complete the installation and you should find that when you restart your computer everything will be fully working without any intervention. 9) You will find that nothing reaches your MSG Data Manager. This because the new version of Tellique is now in Program Files and you will need to redirect MSG DM. I hope this helps and if others have found differences then don't hesitate to point this out. I must be slow on the uptake but I cannot, for the life of me, see what I am supposed to do with the user name and password. I tried "properties" for the eToken software - I asks for a password to rename the eToken. The password I have does not work there. The token is in its USB slot and its light is on. I am receiving images without difficulty at the moment but am concerned about what may happen when the EKU becomes necessary. In addition, I have noticed 2 instances of tqrecv.exe running in "processes" in task manager (W2K). One has a PID of 1524 and the other has a PID of 1912. Ending either one stops the software. I would appreciate some advice on this. John Say Yahoo! Groups Links |

John, That is normal. There is a main reception process and a watchdog process to detect and handle error conditions. Under some error conditions you can get multiple T icons in the taskbar, which go away when the mouse cursor is moved over them. I haven't done a recent eToken installation with the released software, so someone else may be able to help. Cheers, David |
