part of my 3 hours was the problem with Himawari and I also changed all the comments.
There is one place I found in GEOstuff.py where NWCSAF files are "globed" for MSG4.
I slightly changed that allowing for all MSG  (IODC MSG2 NWCSAF is distributed on ter).

Hi Ernst

I have successfully changed all the necessary files for the move to MET10

All I did was replace MSG4 with MSG3 in the file names in GEO-Scripts and then did the same in cron and webm cmd files , I didnt change any times or anything else in cron

In the actual geo scripts I just looked for glob and then changed the filename - I couldnt find any references to MSG3/4 in areas.yaml

It all seems to be working - I have correct images in the correct locations

I will do the same when MET11 comes back next week

You should be able to change the parameters in the settings of the geo satellite window.
Just swap MET_11 with MET_10 and in the search name MSG4 with MSG3.
So the first tab will be Meteosat 10 and the second tab will be Meteosat 11 ( and RSS ).
I'am not able to test it for the moment because I'am in Tenerife...

This morning, before I went to work, I started a 4th instance of MSG-Data-Manager for MSG-3, so that both satellites (MSG-3 and 4) could be received in parallel. When I came back from work, all I had to do was kill the instance of MSG-4. The MSG Animator meanwhile put the images of MSG-4 and then of MSG-3 together without any problems.

I assume you will have to make some internal changes to the program to accommodate the Meteosat 10/11 swap. Meteosat 10 now FES sat from this morning.
It still thinks Meteosat 10 (MSG3 in file name) data is RSS and deals with it accordingly.

This is the problem Ernst. Sellers web sites are way behind new stock.
I suspect there may not be any available.

I am not giving up yet. Those in the know tell me that pll LNB's are normally the best and often expensive.

Trouble is that I need time with good weather. My situation at the moment is made worse by having my snow/rain shield off whilst I am messing about with the LNB. As I said the forecast suggests testing will not be possible for a while. No days without rain.

Still despite a signal in the 10s and low 11s, I have not lost any packets today. HVS-2, of course, is impossible at the moment as it is always 1.2dB down from basic and HVS-1.

Anyway a small distraction tomorrow with FES sat change to Meteosat 10.
What a fun hobby ?!

As an aside, I also updated my LNB from a twin Inverto HGLN 40mm ultra LNB to a quad in readiness for an extra feed.
However despite the online image showing the long body Inverto ultra similar to my twin, what arrived was the new quad ultra with pll.
This has now replaced the old model which is no longer available.

Weather here is completely unsuitable for testing at the moment, but I did get a good 4 hours on the day it arrived and I am very dissapointed with the results. My dish is at ground level allowing easy and accurate adjustment . The twin inverto when removed was giving a SNR of 12.5. I have been unable to even reach 12.00 with the new one despite constant adjustment of focus and skew.

More work needs to be done when weather settles (little chance in next 10 days) but initial tests are not good.

Will report back in due course.

I am now running my Eumetcast system reception very successfully from a mini computer, allowing my main computer to concentrate on all other tasks
Because of this my TBS6903 card is obselete.

I use my SR1 for basic, TBS 5925 for HVS-1 and hopefully TBS 5927 for HVS-2 or some other mix. Equally it could act as a spare.

I've been using my TBS 5927 for quite some time with the fan removed without any issues. Indeed it's slightly warm but nothing that worries me.

Can anyone confirm that they no longer come with an internal fan.

I know when they first appeared that they had a very noisy fan and some people disconnected it and found it still ran cool.

I hear nothing from the unit and looking through the ventilation area on the top seems to show an aluminimum heatsink.

Runs slightly warm. Just want to make sure I don't have a faulty unit.
Too expensive now to open under warranty !
Nothing mentioned about fans when I check on-line, but that applies to the first models as well.
