As you can see from your screenshot there isn't any Metop-stack. I'm not able (for my poor python knowledge) to make it by myself. :(

Yes, I started to work and the starter kit is simply wonderful. I'm using the LEO e and GEO scripts adapted for my coordinates. I was wondering if there's a script (like noaa20 and suomi) for metop (A-B or C) composite of the day (or night). Also something regarding Noaa19.

Thanks for reply Ferdinand

I understood that you have started up to work with pytroll/satpy based on the HowTo version 3 from Ernst.

In that case you have the basic scripts for Metop and NOAA20 in the LEOscripts folder.

Please check and if in doubt, let us know.

Cheers,

Ferdinand

Hello,

did anyone of you make a script for Metop composite? And anything for Noaa19 (single pass or composite)?

Thanks.

Dear EUMETCast-Europe User,

Further to our email below, please be informed that the EUMETCast Europe back-up transponder changed from E21B to HB13 on 1 February 2021, as planned.

Please find attached the latest version of TD 15 which has been updated with the new official backup satellite parameters for HB13.

The EUMETCast web page has been updated accordingly (EUMETCast | EUMETSAT Website), as well as the EUMETCast Knowledge Base (EUMETCast - EUMETSAT Public Confluence (atlassian.net)).

As mentioned previously, we plan to perform a test activation of the EUMETCast Europe service on HB13 – exact dates and further details will be provided in due course.

Best regards,

EUMETSAT User Service

Subject: Migration of EUMETCast Europe restoration capacity to Hotbird 13

Dear EUMETCast-Europe User,

EUMETSAT operates EUMETCast Europe in Ku-band via EUTELSAT 10A (E10A). In case of an unrecoverable failure of E10A, the EUMETCast Europe Service will currently be continued on EUTELSAT 21B (E21B) in the 21° East orbital position.

As already announced via our Weekly Operations Schedule, starting from 01/02/2021, the EUMETCast Europe restoration (back-up) capacity will be migrated from E21B to Hotbird 13 (HB13) in the 13° East orbital position. This means that from 01/02/2021, in case of an unrecoverable failure of E10A, the EUMETCast Europe Service will be continued on HB13.

A test activation of the EUMETCast Europe service on the foreseen HB13 transponders is planned in Q1 2021. During the test, the same data streams will be available on both satellites (E10A and HB13). Further details will be provided in due course.

For technical details on Hotbird 13 transponders and downlink parameters, see our web news: Migration of EUMETCast Europe restoration capacity to Hotbird 13 | EUMETSAT Website

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Nick,

Thanks very much for the information.

Ha-ha.
One of many?

'One month on' and we've already had a spat!

Regards,
John.

++++++++++++++++

John,

The 'deal' for commercial goods is if <£135 (€150) then VAT is charged
by the seller and then paid by them to HMRC.  No further charges are
made by Royal Mail or couriers.  Sellers must provide evidence of VAT
registration/number and value etc. on the package so the HMRC/Customs
know it is legit.

However if >£135 (€150) then import duty, VAT & handling charges are
raised by Royal Mail / couriers in the UK. n.b. duty 'may' be 0% for
some items.

I understand that  the purchaser is liable for ensuring it is done
correctly at the far end ... ???

Not a brexit issue - this will be the case in the whole of EU on
01/07/2021, been in the pipeline for a while now, but 'blamed on bexit'.

I understand that person to person gifts (non commercial) are free of
all charges if <£35 - with the appropriate forms/stickers.

Regards

Nick

Now, how will it all drift apart?

Thanks for the file, I appreciate it very much. I know that I'm not at your python knowledge level, sorry for the silly question.

Hi Ernst, I download only two files related to the pass over Italy. Apart Sentinel-3X script, there are also S3A and S3B scripts. The problem is only that files are in zip format while scripts accept tar format.

Sentinel 3 files and Pytroll/SatPy

Daniele Guardigli

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Pytroll/SatPy and I'm going to understand how does it work. Thanks for the Starter Kit that is a very good tutorial for dummies like me.
I'm trying to process Sentinel 3 images but I realized that when I download files from CODA, they are in zip format while pytroll wants a tar format. How can I do?

Thanks,

Daniele Guardigli

Hello Ferdinand,

Thanks for that.
On a day that neither Metop's (B and C) had a cloud free view on South Georgia.

Attached Jan. 27 and 28 images where you could see though the clouds.

Finally the main slab of A68a has succumbed to the forces of erosion. Today
it broke up lengthwise as expected and two additional chunks broke off as
well. It is also visible in the Sentinel 3B image of today, but greatly
hindered by overlying cloud.

It has been a long and very interesting journey all the way from the Larsen
shelf!

Cheers,

Stefano - thanks for replying.
Did some more checks and found out installing the Safenet Software via RDP fails. Testing via RDP fails as well (even when installing and testing (with 'tc-cast-client-exe -k') locally before was successful). Accessing the PC via Teamviewer (or VNC etc.) does not show the problem. What a waste of time to find this out! Later - once i got the contraints - i also found a hint on David's website (https://www.satsignal.eu/software/msg_dm_pc.htm) mentioning similar issues. Net for me another example to stick to Linux...

Error when installing EUMETCast-EKU-SAC-x64-9.0.msi on Win10

I'm trying to install the Safenet Software on a Win10 PC (Zotac CI 547). Unfortunately during install i get the error message: There appears to be a problem with the Smart Card Resource Manager configuration on this computer. The installation will be completed but may not work correctly'. Subsequently the License Information on the Token via 'tc-cast-client-exe -k' is not recoqnized. Also tried this with Win10 Versions 1909, 2004 and 20H2 - same Result. Following the exact same installation procedure on a Laptop works with no issues at all.

Has anyone else seen this issue before?

Andreas
