Daniele

Take ImageMagick. With "magick convert" it's easy to add headers or footers with whatever text and font you like.

Good afternoon to all,

Does Eumetcastview allow to insert a header or footer to images? Like date, sat and so on.

Thanks

Further to previous mails, if there are IR channels being sent why does EUMETCastview show the "um" values on all the channels as less than 2 except for one marginally above 2.

We receive FY3D IR channels on both day and night passes.
Here is a SatPy "night-fog" RGB composite from last night
and an older SatPy daytime "micro-physics" image as well.

Thanks for the reply Ernst. I am not too familiar with EUMETCastview and clearly need to spend a little more time with the program. When I run channels 5 to 19 individually I appear get the same image.

Ian.

Having just had a look at some FY-3D data for the first time through EUMETCastview ( thanks Hugo ) am I correct in saying that we are not receiving any IR channels.

I know that the satellite has 25 channels and only 15 are being sent through EUMETCast.

David,

there is this long MSG-1 thread from spring 2020. I attached a
Windows10 64Bit starter kit to message #29367. This should still
be an acceptable starting point. Unfortunately only weeks later
there were a couple of improvements in SatPy and also some more
scrips attached then and when (as Graham Woolf kept asking ;-).

Maybe this winter brings the next lockdown and I find the time
to update to a version 2.0 of the HOWTO. As I stated there must
be five Windows users of Hugo's proposed oldtimer club reporting
success with EUMETCast and PyTroll/SatPy first. We have now:

Graham Woolf
Douglas Deans
John ?? john.haslam4@..
Ferdinand Valk  (thanks for your nice report!)

Cheers,
Ernst

Ernst,

After an extended period of health inconvenience I finally took the time to
go through the history of emails related to SatPy on a Windows machine. I'm
impressed with the work you have done and with the straightforward
instructions you wrote. I got it working in a single morning with no
obstacle worth mentioning.
My sincere thanks for this contribution to the community.

If you reopen EUMETCastView and than maximize your window , the toolbox should be the way you want it. I tested this on Windows 10 and everything seems to work now.

Excellent Hugo that works perfectly.
I wonder if in the past I unwittingly did that hence no problems until recently.
