Here is one attached Regards Graham ========================== Many thanks, Graham. Do you happen to know anything about file names, and what length (minutes/seconds) each file is? I see GEO1K files which are ground location data, I guess. Re: Eumetcast Tuner
Hello
I would like to by Eumetcast Satellite receiver . CAN be any suitable device I loose my second processing unit during thunderstorm Br. Esko Petäjä ------------------------------------------------ Esko, Sorry to hear that! I don't associate Finland with a high thunderstorm risk. How did the device fail - was it through the power connections, network connections, or the RF input? I know that some people have had power supply failures (overheating?). If the failure was through the RF connector perhaps there's a lightning arrester you could fit? These should be easily available for the F connector used in satellite TV, but check they are rated for up to 1.7 GHz (satellite TV could be up to 2 GHz). 73, David GM8ARV -- SatSignal Software - Quality software for you Web: https://www.satsignal.eu Email: david-taylor@blueyonder.co.uk Twitter: @gm8arv

Re: Double tuner in T1/T2
Hello
I am just updating my systems. Is it possible to use double tuner capability of devices to receive from both transponders T1/T2 with same card. ?? TBS-6903/6908 or SR 1 Br. Esko Petäjä ============================== Esko, Yes, I'm using a TBS6903 PCIe card in a PC receiving both T1/HVS-1 and T2/HVS-2 (likely it would do BAS as well but I have no need in that PC). It's in the single-cable configuration. Works well, but the TBS IP reception software continually crashed that Windows-10 PC, so I use BDADataEx instead. It doesn't stretch that PC much - it's receive-only supply a limited subset of HVS-1 data (GOES-16/17 and Himawari) over the house network. https://www.satsignal.eu/mrtg/performance_lund.php SR1 - one transponder only. 73, David GM8ARV -- SatSignal Software - Quality software for you Web: https://www.satsignal.eu Email: david-taylor@blueyonder.co.uk Twitter: @gm8arv

Re: Double tuner in T1/T2

Hello

Double tuner with T1+T2 reception is possible with 1 TBS-6903 even with a single cable. TBS-6908 is like 2 x TBS-6903 (overkill, up to 4 transponders like T1 or T2 possible). An SR1 can only receive 1 transponder of the EUMETCast T1 or T2 kind (with ACM/VCM). So you need 2 SR1 for T1+T2 and 2 LNB cables or 1 LNB cable and a HF power splitter. Re: FY-3D
David,
The official HDF4/5 does not work for FY3D and as Douglas has confirmed EUMETCastView has not been updated for Windows for FY3D As neither of these programs work I will assume there is little point in sending any files. Many thanks for your offer of help. Regards Ian. ========================= Ian, Remember that Windows now has a built-in subsystem for Linux, so perhaps that may be the best route? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10 It's relatively easy to install. Then you can have the best of both worlds! Cheers, David -- SatSignal Software - Quality software for you Web: https://www.satsignal.eu Email: david-taylor@blueyonder.co.uk Twitter: @gm8arv

However, even if the official HDF-5 reader can't read the files it suggests they are not in strict HDF-5 format! I thought that was why all the new data was moving to HDF-5 as everyone could read it! Re: FY-3D

All
This is for the problem of FY3D not imaging the U.K.. It's received under GNU/Linux, SAMBA shared and processed with PyTROLL/SatPy under Windows 10. FY3D is an afternoon sat heading north. I attach the image and the files that show that I had no packet lost, no file lost. This can be used in discussions with OPS that sees no problems. The image should have the Isle of Man close to the pass "center": So about half of the expected pass is missing! Cheers Ernst
