Yes Herman, even here in central Italy the SNR has increased. I hope it is not the usual momentary change of uplink and that this is maintained!

Signal level up 0,5 dB
Herman Vijlbrief
Hi to all,
Tonight I noticed that my signal level is about 0,5 dB up comparing to the normal level of the last month's. The Es/No level is now a stable 15 dB received with an Ayecka / 125 cm dish/35m cable at my location 16 KM south west of Amsterdam. I hope that this is seen on more locations an has is on this level in the future. Greetings Herman Vijlbrief

2met software
Nadi2016@...
Hello,
I would like to buy 2met Sofware because they claim a wide range of capabilities(Processing all of Eumetcast data and ...), but I couldn't find a demo or any video from the software. Has anyone worked with this software? What is your Idea about this matter?

Re: Metop Manager
can someone help i am not getting any picture in metop tag in metop manager ? i have latest version i am receiving GAC
Thanks Brian G7TYP ======================================= Brian, Likely I'm out of date here, but my understanding is: - Metop-A is now sent on the HVS-1. - Metop-B and Metop-C are sent on the BS, as is the NOAA-19 GAC. Is there anything helpful in the program's Lo information? Re: Announcements query
From: James Brown
I am just wondering if I am alone in wishing that when an announcement update from Eumetsat is given it could be tailored to the specific item to which it refers? The last one I saw included 32 announcements which had to be worked through - or am I being picky or not understanding the delivery method properly? JB out and about ============================================= I do wish the main announcements were more like the SAF method! One message, one announcement, but they have less to cover, of course. I was told that the composite message lists announcements in order of applicability, perhaps that explains things. EUMETSAT do much better on Twitter, where each announcement is targeted at something happening soon with a meaningful topic, but even there reference is often just to the UNS with a number, but not to a link taking you directly to the numbered announcement, with it expanded to show the detail. The full announcements (Thursday) will have to be a composite, but the updates would be better with a topic reference and the single item, not 32! Maybe the professionals have message filters set up to match their interest, Something we could discuss on July 02? Hello James,
>Shot myself in the foot there by forgetting to cut previous text!!! Doh!
Well, not really.
Your comment made me have a belated look today at the 'PID's List' following my comments to EUMETSAT last year.
Gosh, the lists are getting fuller and fuller and longer and longer. In the current format, it's difficult to itemise each PID's 'multiple content.'
But I agree with your comments regarding announcements.
Perhaps I'm not registered for the 'correct' news service, and/or should consult their website in a more timely manner?
Regards,
John

However I am not seeing any data on EPS-3 from Metop B. I have not checked but I assume there will be ASCAT data on EPS-3 on the HVS-1 service from Metop A. To be honest there is much more ASCAT data available for all three Metops on EPS-Africa which includes global and EARS. Hope that helps. Regards Ian.

Robert I do not take ASCAT data on EPS-3, but you should be getting it on both the basic service and HVS-1. I will check tomorrow on the basic service.
Keep in mind that ASCAT data from all three Metops is also available on EPS-Africa and if you are not taking EPS-3 you can set up the Metop Managers to handle that data ( that is what I do at the moment ). Regards Ian.

Is anyone taking the ASCAT wind data? I’m assuming it’s on EPS-3, but I am getting nothing in my receiver files.

Re: OS recommendations
Hi
I am upgrading an existing Eumetcast system. I would like recommendations for the OS. Does the MSG Data Manager software work on linux? Kind regards, Jean du Preez =================================== Jean, Suggestions: - use the same OS as the present system. If it works, why change it? - unless you are familiar with Linux and networking innards, Linux would not be my fist choice. - the MSG Data Manager should work under a virtual Windows PC, under Linux. - the MSG Data Manager may work under Linux/WINE, but it would be unsupported. - for a new system, I would recommend Windows-10 with a minimum of 4-cores/8 GB, with 4-cores+hyperthreading 16 GB preferred. More cores if the machine is doing more. Cheers, David -- SatSignal Software - Quality software for you Web: http://www.satsignal.eu Email: david-taylor@blueyonder.co.uk Twitter: @gm8arv

Thank you Ian for your reply. If it is as you say then on HVS-1 what are the data on E1H-TPL-1 labeled Noaa-20?Peter as far as I remember the data coming through E1H-TPL-1 is likely to be sounder data. I have not taken that channel for some time now and for the last few days I am not taking any data on HVS-1 as I am presently using my 10 year old backup computer. NOAA 20 VIIRS image data is on basic service and NPP VIIRS image data is on HVS-1. PS I have mail issues at the moment with missing mails making continuity difficult. Regards Ian.
