thanks for the reply. My motivation to use a ramdisk is my empathy for the HDD
mechanics.. ;) Whereas the electrons might suffer even more, but...

Right now, I am only taking the BS part only, via the SR1. Living a bit outside the
optimal field strength spot, I'll deal with the HVS later.

Ulrich I take BS, HVS-1 and HVS-2 separately but quite often
simultaneously on a single computer which also does processing with
David's programs and Hugo's program and I have never found a need
for a
RAMDisk. I do keep HVS-1 and HVS-2 data (and TMP folder) on separate
HDDs
to help with write.

I use a SR1 for the BS and 6903 for HVS-1 and HVS-2 from a dual
LNB.

So channel 2 is the spectacular 0.5 KM visual channel.


But EUMETSAT announced:
"The data are half-hourly full disk data in 2km resolution in channels 2-16. They are distributed in their native netCDF format."


So I am not sure what to expect on Channel/band 2 in future.
Currently both 02 and 03 channels produce the same 5424 x 5424 x 24 BPP Full globe resolution images in David's NetCDFreader.


I can confirm that i receive OR_ABI-L1b-RadF-M3C02_G16_.........
up to OR_ABI-L1b-RadF-M3C16_G16_......... files, so channels 02 to 16.

Yes I am seeing additional spurious geographic outlines on the globe view. I have not tried any of the projections yet.

I am out for a bit but will send an image to you directly later this afternoon. It is only on the lower left of the globe image and does not appear on the 3D globe.

been running it successfully for nearly a day.
GOES 16 seems fine although I do notice on the globe view some spurious
outlines in the lower left of the image which should not be there. They
are not showing on the 3D globe.

Thanks for coming back to me.
My receive pc was running over night and there was some GOMS 2 data in the folder from 22:00-06:30 UTC, however I have just looked in my processed image folder and there are no new images from the fore mentioned data! Not sure what is going on there?


Will just keep an eye on the messages to see when GOMS 2 is running again.

Can anyone please confirm for me if their Electro-L N2 data (GOMS2) "visible image" is incomplete at the moment? A small section at the top of the image is the area which is affected.


This had also happened before the couple of days break in the data.


I'm not sure what the correct term would be for when this happens!
