Re: Query setting DVB-S to DVB-S2
Hi Basil,
At the moment I am receiving DVB-S data via the Ayecka SR1 and want to change to DVB-S2. I have followed the instructions in David Taylor's Next-Steps and I now have Config Set1 Not Active and Config Set2 Active, yet when it reverts back to the main menu it says RX1 Active and RX2 Not Active.RX1 and RX2 designate the receivers, i.e. where you plug the coax cable coming from the dish into. The data stream still arrives at RX1 even with configuration set 2; unless you switched the cable to RX2 ... Regards, Christoph ==================================== Good point, Christoph. I have updated the Web page with a small clarification. Cheers, David -- SatSignal Software - Quality software written to your requirements Web: http://www.satsignal.eu Email: david-taylor@...

Re: SkyStar 2 eXpress HD

Geoff, I have a Technisat HD USB DVB-S2 box the same as the one shown on the migration page. It will not work under Windows for the basic service as it is not compatible with VCM . You can receive the odd bit of data but you will have hundreds of missed packets in minutes due to the HVService interference.

Nigel,
thanks for the immediate reaction. My target is less the ability to upload updates than means to check reception quality etc. remotely through my LAN. Without substantial in-depth-knowledge I assumed that that would be facilitated by this construct. SR1 Wampserver labour pains
This moment had to come - I tried to follow the Eumetsat installation directions step
by step, but sometimes things don't work out as expected. XP SP3, to start with. SR1 streams DVB-S (!) data in its out of the GEO-box state. USB interface successfully installed. .net framework 3.5 installed. wampserver(32b) installation is stopped two times with the message that httpd.exe is not a valid Windows application. Bummer. After the (thus interrupted) installation finishes, starting wampserver leads to the message that Aestan Tray Menue has found an error and must be stopped. Report to Billy G.? Rather not. Where did I take the wrong way? The data stream from the SR1 has been running all the time during these activities. At one time during the wamp installation I was asked for the browser on my system. The installation suggested explorer.exe. On the first attempt, I selected firefox.exe, on the second attempt (leading to the same result) I left explorer.exe there. No avail. Any suggestions anyone, or just a pointer where this has been solved or discussed before? Thanks, cheers, U.

Re: SR1 Thresholds.
David in reply to your helpful mail over a week ago I have now reverted back
temporarily to my SR1 to test the saving of threshold settings. I have software version 250 installed after an upgrade some months ago. So many thanks for that useful tip (and Arne as well).
