At the moment I am receiving DVB-S data via the Ayecka SR1 and want to change to DVB-S2. I have followed the instructions in David Taylor's Next-Steps and I now have Config Set1 Not Active and Config Set2 Active, yet when it reverts back to the main menu it says RX1 Active and RX2 Not Active.
Why is that, should'nt the Main menu now say RX1 Not Active and RX2 Active?

RX1 and RX2 designate the receivers, i.e. where you plug the coax cable coming from the dish into. The data stream still arrives at RX1 even with configuration set 2; unless you switched the cable to RX2 ...

Geoff, I have a Technisat HD USB DVB-S2 box the same as the one shown on the migration page. It will not work under Windows for the basic service as it is not compatible with VCM . You can receive the odd bit of data but you will have hundreds of missed packets in minutes due to the HVService interference.

When you select the channel to be active you must also go down the menu I think to the
letter( I )
To make it active check before you do anything but is quite clearly labelled in the menus

On the menu: which satellite you want to receive:
the names of the satellite with the ( -** ) is situated to the East
the names of the satellites with ( ** ) is situated in the West
In this case take the name EUTELSAT W1
I have always been like this, and it market

Hi Geoff,please find the text of a former message I shared with Vincenzo.
The sequence of starting telicast is server4pc, then SS2XPFIX.exe, then Telicast.I'm running W7 32bit Home Edition and the receiving of the Basic Service is very stable.

I have tried nearly all products from Technisat. The only card I was able

to

setup for operation was and is the SS2 express HD with the SS2XPFIX.exe
program.
Without the fix, I saw a signal but often switching off and on.
With all other cards I was not able to find a signal at 11263 H 33000 kS/s

on

Eutelsat 10A Of course there are a few TV channels on the satellite but

this

does not help regarding Eumetsat.
 
The Skystar 2 express HD was an investment of approx.. 44 Euro at Amazon

I asked Space-Band for as copy of the SR1 Control Programme and they have very efficiently sent me a copy. Problem is getting it to open and run.

Also the 'Sr1Control.change2jar' file will not open on my Win 7 Pro operating system. How do I get into it and then what do I do with it? Sorry to be so dumb buy after the simple days of my TechniSat plug-and-play USB receiver this is all a bit of a confusing bore to a simple mind !!

than means to check reception quality etc. remotely through my LAN. Without
substantial in-depth-knowledge I assumed that that would be facilitated by this
construct.

It is an executable .jar file hidden in the extension. Do as it says
rename'changetojar' to jar extension. then click on the resultant executable!

temporarily to my SR1 to test the saving of threshold settings.
I have software version 250 installed after an upgrade some months ago.
I can confirm that the link margin thresholds do not save across a shutdown
when using the 0000 save system but, as suggested, they have saved using the
warm reset method.
So many thanks for that useful tip (and Arne as well).

Bonjour francois,

With the drossel-services.de site, you have to enter 10 followed by return (Enter) to set the satellite correctly for 10 degrees East. If you enter -10 it will select Eutelsat 1 at 10W. Then just enter your lat and long and the date you want to do the work, and that's it! Time of sun transit, elevation and skew all given.
