Hi,

I believe that what happens with the USB system is that when a device is first plugged in, the driver for it is found and attached to the port in use. If you plug it in to another port subsequently, there will be no driver for it and Windows will find the driver and load it again, tying that port to the new driver. Some devices, like the eToken, are installed on the port first used and must be re-installed if another port is to be used. Its a good principle to note the port you use for each device and ensure that when you unplug things, that they are reconnected in the same way as originally.

Hi, everthing I thinks sorted now. I also had the etoken key in the wrong usb slot. I moved it to another and it worked. They must only work in the usb slot that the etoken was in when the eumetsat software was setup.

I did switch the usb connection from my technisat to a different port on my computer and I got the pink T for a second and this went to blackT on yellow with the msg tc-recv connecting, but it will not connect, and stays on the yellow/blackT
I think therefore I had the Technisat skystar usb connected to the wrong usb port. However I still cant get to the pink T to receive information.

A red T means: tellicast doesn't receive any PID100 info channel. That has nothing to do with password, etoken etc.; it's more like you are not receiving any signal, or firewall is blocking your received data, or interface_address in recv.ini is incorrect.

There is no password for the eToken. Just cancel the request. This /is/ covered on the EUMETSAT install CD tutorial.

Try, Programs, eToken, eToken properties, and click on the View eToken Info
button. See if you get a page of eToken information display (like the
sample below). If the page looks OK, your eToken is working.

I think I may have damaged my EKU.When pulling out of the USB slot. the bottom section came away. I seemed to put it back together ok and it lights up when reinserted in to the usb slot, the EKU lit ok.
However the Red T does not change now to yellow T.
Does anyone know how I can get a new eku.

To get a replacement EKU.
Goto your EO Portal login
Edit/View subscription
Click on edit/view
scroll down to EUMETCast
click on modify
order new EKU and you will be invoiced for a new one. They now accept credit cards online to pay for the invoice once received.

The EKU doesn't change the colour of your T. Something else must be wrong; Tellicast receives PID100 (yellow T) but it doesn't recognize it's from Eumetcast.

Yes it does help although I am not 100% happy with my present set-up given
that I am only running a 32 bit operating system and with 8 GB of ram not
necessary very sensible. Ok I have used some of it on a 800 Mb RAMdisk but
a lot still not being used.

Just letting things settle down after losing Windows 8/64 trying to install
2007 DVBWorld drivers for my Dexatek box.

Being near the sea does help although I am probably 800 feet or so above sea
level and have had some snow -- but not as much as Douglas.

Unless you've moved since 2007, Ian, I make your altitude more like 45 m or 147 feet. That's from both my GPS reading and a UK contour map.

BTW: Arne van Belle pointed out a RAMdisk which could use memory above 4 GB on a 32bit system IIRC. Gavotte RAMdisk? Yes:
