My losses are fairly minor but I am seeing high figures for Missed and recovered packets. However I did try the Technisat box on Windows 7 for about 2 hours and although that is a very short period there was signs of missed and recovered packets, something I never saw with my Dexatek box or old SkyStar PCI card. When I go back to Windows 7 64-bit I will be able to give it a good test. I will make comment on Windows 8 later as I am just on the way out. Regards Ian.

You can use IDL to open and view IASI level 2 data. There's an API for IDL on the EUMETSAT website which contains the functions you need for reading them.

Info on data format here: http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/WEBOPS/eps-pg/IASI-L2/IASIL2-PG-index.htm API can be downloaded from here (EPS format IDL reader) http://www.eumetsat.int/Home/Main/DataAccess/SupportSoftwareTools/index.htm?l=en Hope that helps

FYI there's a significant fire in Trinidad (I think) at the moment, it's
visible in the low-res MSG data and - once the window slides over - should be visible in Ch12 also. Simon. On Thu, Jul 19, 2012 at 10:43 AM, David J Taylor <gm8arv@yahoo.co.uk> wrote: ** [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
