Hi John,
did you ever resolve your problem with b2status ?

I have just finished re-installing XP Prof, Eumetcast and Davids
programmes after replacing the system hard drive here and thought I
would try and get MRTG running - but have hit the same problem as you
with b2status.exe.

Running 'perl mrtg mrtg.cfg' throws up:-
"b2settuner error failed to open '' or the device is no B2C2 Adapter
(initialise Tuner Control failed)"

My skystar card is using v4.4.1 drivers and I have tried v4.3 and
v4.4.1 of b2status.exe - both give similar errors !
Eumetcast reception is going well, thank goodness.
Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated, if you have succeeded in
getting it running!
cheers

Nigel,

On my two 4.4.1 installations the b2status.exe which works is, using right-click, Properties:

28,762 bytes, modified 10 Oct 2007 23:19

However, I recall:

- if you run the wrong eersion, even once, you need to reboot to get the right version to work

- I /think/ that you must have the Technisat PVR, DVB Viewer software installed as well, to the the .AX file. I'm unsure about this, though.

Check for the file:
01/10/2007 15:58 159,744 Sky2PCAVSrc.ax

in:

C:\Program Files\Technisat_DVB\bin\

Cheers,
David

Re: bracknell bacthmode

Annarita,
I use automated batch for creating some images.

Try something like (beware of wrapped line if any...) :
"C:\Programmi\David J Taylor\GeoSatSignal\AutoGet.exe" -BRACK -MIN -CLOSE
"C:\Programmi\David J Taylor\GeoSatSignal\GeoSatSignal.exe"
E:\Eumetsat\MSG\Images\HRIT\*-msg-ch09.jpg -j6
-remap:E:\Eumetsat\Bmp_Avi\msg_hourly\MSG_BRACKNELL_1H.jpg -min

were GSS "job 6" has Overlay set to "Bracknell" and MapProjection set to
"Polar stereographic" in "Remapping" tab.

Ciao

Eclipse

Hi Group

Could anybody give me a link to read some info about the solar eclipse weโ€™ll
have tomorrow?

Which is the problem? Is the MSG between the earth and the sun and then, a
parabolic dish can not receive well itโ€™s signal? Or, is the problem with the
calibration against black ceil in the spinning movement?

Server-IPs

Ulrich G. Kliegis

Hi all,
just an accidental observation I made yesterday. I installed a program that is
part of a somewhat larger application environment and that makes parts of
its abilities available to others on the local net, configured as a server. The
IP address of this server was - you almost guess it - 192.168.238.238.
No one, even not me, will install such a program on the receiving PC, but
ambiguities cannot be excluded. I am not sure if the Eumetcast-receiver
"server" is visible to outside the receiving PC, SuperScan 3 (run from a
different PC on the LAN) shows one used IP address at 192.168.238.238 on
port 80; and probably it uses different port numbers (the graphics application
happens to use 8080) which does not make things much easier.

Just a hint to where the evil can lure... :)

Cheers,
U.

EUMETCast signal level reporting to EUMETSAT - again.

geojohnt@...

All,

Since the change-over from EB-9 to EB-9A a small band of us have been
monitoring daily signal levels and variations and feeding back to EUMETSAT.

Some teaks were made to 'the setup' last week and EUMETSAT believe the
signal from EB-9A is now stable.
Ops have asked me if I would request that EUMETCast Ku-band users in Europe
would kindly report their signal level again so that they can get a more
accurate picture of levels across Europe now.

http://www.eumetsat.int/Home/Main/What_We_Do/EUMETCast/ReceptionReport/i
ndex.htm?l=en

They would very much appreciate your (further) report even if your signal
level hasn't changed since your first EUROBIRD-9A report.

Regards,
John Tellick.

Maybe.

Perhaps.

Also is there any way
of changing the default vertical size of the dialog box to be able to
see more of the available files?
Probably not.

I assume NOAA-19 will be added to the broadcast schedule once it is
comissioned.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Angus
I would be surprised if it was not.

BTW: there is a dedicated DWDSAT Yahoo group:

Its genuinely a useful extra resource in monitoring our systems.

FY2E

Ian Deans <isdeans1.-_@...>

It has now been reported that FY2E finished testing at the end of February and that all testing was very successful. I have pasted part of the report below.

As the satellite is still at its test position nearly 3 weeks after finalisation of testing there must be some doubt as to whether it is to take over FY2C duties now or later. Going by the report it would be preferential sooner than later !!

"Compared with its predecessors, Fengyun-2E showed improvement in 32 key technologies, said Zhao.
Test results showed the quality of visible light images captured by the new satellite were an improvement over those of its predecessors, while the scattered radiation on infrared images was reduced by 30 percent to 40 percent compared with Fengyun-2D, said Zhao."

Regards

Ian.

Re: Data stopped

Ian Deans <isdeans1.-_@...>

Yes, although it is now getting sent out of order ( Met-9 and RSS ) so Data Manager is skipping some of the data.

Ian.
