My outage 'SNR drop' is longer on the west side of the dish compared to the east.
I put that down to the fact that the shadowing of the dense fir tree ahead of my dish being only a 'couple' of degrees off (to the east of) 10 degrees E.

So it shadows the easterly side lobe pick-up?

Take a look on eBay and you might be able to find a second-hand TBS USB box.

What you say makes sense at the first reading.
