LTSPICE MODEL CREATION FROM IBIS MODEL? #IBIS

Hi,
I would like to get an LTspice model of the 74LVC1G123 or SN74LVC1G123.  TI unfortunately provides only encrypted HSPICE and IBIS models.  Can the IBIS model be used within LTspice?

Thank you for any help you may provide.

Chundra asked, "Can the IBIS model be used within LTspice?"

No.

But there is a free tool to 'convert' IBIS to SPICE models.  You might have limited success with that.  Be aware that it uses only the oldest parts of IBIS, so most newer features of IBIS models are ignored.

Also, I heard that Spectrum Software's (now free) Micro-Cap has IBIS import capability, and that it can be used to generate a SPICE model from the IBIS data.

Thanks Andy, I will check out Micro-Cap.  Is this a competitor of LTspice?

MicroCap is free, LTspice is free. What competition?

Hi Vlad,
I was simply wondering about the simulation accuracy and features...

What you were asking about, are pretty standard gates, just in a single-gate package. Unless you are pushing delay time or response speed, most folks don’t bother with highly accurate gates and simply use behavioral models.

Try SPISIM_IBIS, which is a free IBIS converter, and it has an LTspice export option.  It can handle IBIS 6.1 and older, and it is maintained and not discontinued as an older converter, IBIS2SPICE from Intusoft, and Micro-Cap are.

Micro-Cap imports IBIS 5.1 and older, same as PSpice,  Using Micro-Cap probably won't gain you much if you already use LTspice.  SPICE-based simulators that can "import" IBIS models are really doing the same thing SPISIM_IBIS is doing.  They all create an equivalent model that SPICE can understand.  You can also do that yourself by following http://blog.lamsimenterprises.com/2010/12/22/drivers-output-impedance-from-ibis or http://www.pericom.com/faq/faq_family.php?family=1 (then look for ID 198), which is easy to implement in a spreadsheet.
