Arcsecond per pixel setup question

Blair MacDonald

Anyone know what the arcsecond per pixel setup in the file menu is used for?

Not to my knowledge, which is why I'm curious about the setup function?

I think it's just a tool to work out the arcsec/px for your rig, i.e. just a useful stat, but I don't think it gets used anywhere in IP; at least I've never seen anything that uses it...

Geof

Hi Blair;

  I just installed the free version and I see that it has Camera control with focus capability. Do you think it could have something to do with focusing?

I found this information into the header of FITS files created by IPCC.
I suspect that IP will do this for DSLR filles when it's converting
from RAW/NEF to FITS.

I'm no longer imaging with my DSLR so I can't verify this.

In the Star Shape tool you select the profile you are using for your image.  Then the arcsecond/pixel is displayed.
It must be used for the some of the statistics displayed in that tool (and maybe others.)
