Broad-winged hawk continues
Louisa Evers
The Broad-winged hawk found on December 14 continues, apparently splitting its time between Barber Park and Marianne Williams Park. Here are a few photos I got this afternoon in Marianne Williams Park. I see that Norm Eshoo and JC Curd both got the bird this morning in Barber Park. -- |

I was at Marianne Williams this morning and then Barber Park in the afternoon. No luck I was obviously at the wrong park at the wrong time :-)
What part of the parks are they being seen in?

I saw the bird on the east end of Marianne Williams near where the Dallas Harris path begins. It flew across the river to about the middle of Barber Park. I think JC Curd saw it somewhere around the Event Center in Barber Park if I recall the info in his eBird list correctly.

What time were you there this afternoon? I went back past Marianne Williams about 2:30 a fire engine was pulling into the parking lot.
The Harris’s Sparrow location had large gravel trucks backing down the gravel road it was seen on this afternoon. I saw Larry and Elijah this morning parked next to the fence with lots of birds but no Harriss’s. The I went to Shakespeare, Say’s Phoebe was my favorite from there. The when I stopped back about 1 the gravel trucks had taken over. So I went to Barber Park until about 2:30.

I think I was there about 1:30 or 2. Walked around the park a bit and it was probably 2:30 or 3 when I actually saw it. Didn’t see a fire engine.
