Spotted Towhee
We've been having a male Spotted Towhee coming to our feeders off and on for the last three weeks or so. Shouldn't they be gone by now? I've never had one stick around so long. Ruthann Greene South si

Over wintering robins
Thanks for all the info. Now I understand why I have Robins. One crabapple tree and three large Russian Olives are in the yard and the Robins were spotted by the crabapple. Ruthann

I just saw two male Robins in my yard and know that it is not that unusual for them to be here in the winter, but it leaves me with the question...what do they eat in the winter? Ruthann Greene South

Yup, I saw it right across the street from Bear Creek. Is it unusual to see them so far from the river? From: Robert Mortensen To: Ruthann Greene Cc: "ible@..." Sent: Tuesday, December 18,

Bald Eagle
I just spotted a Bald Eagle eating lunch in a field near Roaring Springs in South Meridian. I thought I saw an Eagle in this area last year, but never got a good look. I am surprised to see one so far

Black Chin Hummers
I wasn't sure if the Black Chins were back, or it was just that the hummers don't like my new style feeder. I placed it in the same location as the old one used last year, but haven't seen any hummers

I am sorry I didn't put my location. I live just South of Meridian, ID in a rural/transitional area. And yes, we do have Pheasants here. Ruthann

Thanks for the info, Heidi. I will certainly tell her about the red dye..I know she wouldn't want to hurt her hummers. The problem really is she is doing nothing different this year than she every has

Hummer Question
I have a friend in Coos Bay, OR who usually has lots of Annas and Rufous coming to her feeders. This year she has fewer, but the real mystery is that the ones that come sit on the feeder for a second

Possible immature yellow throat or wilson's warbler
I don't think it was a Orange-crowned Warbler, but probably the Common Yellowthroat. I got a very close look at it as it was just outside my window in a bush.
