Ryan Anderson and I took a whirlwind trip through Boise trying for several of the rarities seen lately. At Barber Park the RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was found downstream near the dam. A VARIED THRUSH and a HERMIT THRUSH were found in the southwest corner of Kathryn Albertson Park, no sign of the purple finch today. Across the street at Ann Morrison Park, a single PINE GROSBEAK was feeding in the crabapple trees east of the fountain. Up the hill at Morris Hill Cemetery, the RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was refound in Section K on a large Douglas Fir tree.
