Group Description

This is the Heathkit HW-9 user group. Dedicated to the enjoyment, restoration and operation of one of Heathkit's most fondly remembered kits. Greetings from your group moderators Steve VE7GTU and Colin VA7WWV -- both located in Victoria B.C. Canada and enthusiastic QRP operators.

Before posting to the group with an issue, please browse under the "Files" tab where you will find many resources on the HW9, including the full manual and a block diagram, how to replace the finals, and pretty much the whole range of mods over the years for improving the rig's performance. If you don't find what you're looking for there, feel free to post questions to our knowledgeable group members who will be only too happy to help out.
There are thousands of these great CW QRP transceivers still out there - many as good as the day they were built in the late 80's and early 90's. Yes, they are old school analog devices from a bygone era - but they are simple to operate, run limited power (around 5 watts) and with a little effort and skill, reward the operator with exciting contacts around the globe.
Welcome to the Group.
