I think this hat is made by knitting for
an inch or so with color A in the left hand and color B in the
right hand, and then switching them. Certainly it was linked to
a discussion of that.
Yarn dominance means that the yarn in your left
hand is more prominent than the yarn in your right hand.
(Something to do with which yarn comes up from underneath as you
knit the stitch.)
An interesting pattern technique.
