HOn3 standards gauge

Bruce

I model the East Broad Top.  They mounted standard gauge cars on narrow gauge trucks and ran them across much of the railroad.  I use a NMRA HO gauge to ensure clearances on my layout.

Perhaps the NMRA is going to correct the HOn3 gauge. The overall clearance on the metal version does not allow for the largest HOn3 locomotives such as D&RGW K37's which were coverted from standard gauge locos. It was fine for Baldwin C-class, but too small for some of the K's (not sure exactly where the dividing line is). I was told to use standard HO clearances for this dimension.
That said the metal version still available from the NMRA

Have you read the correspondence from the organization regarding rolling out a new store? I just went to the site and found On3, Sn3, HOn3 and standard gauges. It’s there guys. Are you logged in as members?

Eric,

Is your question related to the fact the NMRA has just released plastic clearance gauges for most of the various scales and gauges, including ones for On3 and On30, but nothing for HOn3, which I believe is a larger market that the other two combined?  This would not be the first time the NMRA has done some pretty squirelly (sp?) things.

It might just that they are currently out of stock and therefore not showing on the website. Let’s not “throw the baby out with the bath water“ as the old saying goes.

The NMRA does many things that are beneficial to all scales.

Hi Wayne,
No, I went to the NMRA website and at their store only see HO, O, On30 and N scale standards gauge. So I was not sure if they were still made.

Thank you
