Years ago I took the motor of one of these overoiled K-27s apart. I was very surprised to find a 3-pole motor. The issue was the standard one of oil on the commutator and brushgear turning sludge, and

Track Gauges (was Steve Hatch)
There are other people who make HOn3 track gauges. Kadee have them for example. I use them and have no problems with them. https://www.kadee.com/hon3-scale-tools-and-accessories-c-272_224_229/342-hon3

"Gramps " decals
I would not trust MDC accuracy over Thinfilm, or indeed Blackstone, whose Gramps lettering is the same size as Thinfilm. Both also match photos of the real thing. Mick ________________________________

Does Anyone Have Experience With HOn3 D&RGW Passenger Trucks
No, you do glue the body bolster beam on MRGS trucks to the truck body bolster, they pivot as one. The car truck plate is separate. Mick ________________________________ Mick Moignard m: +44 7774 6525

Grandt did used to offer a plastic passenger truck. 5182 if my memory serves. PSC offered an identical set of castings including a mould flaw in brass. Grandt suffered a problem with wheel manufacture

John No idea why it was there unless it was some sort of bleed valve, but both 20 and 461 had them and they’re rarely if ever modelled. Mick ______________________________________ Mick Moignard mick@m
