If you look on the Model Railroad Hobbyist web site they have a color conversion chart to different brands and also a guide to spraying acrylics including the cheap craft acrylics. Pete

NJ Custom Brass C21 Remotor?
Hey Bill I am part of the R&RG group and I can vouch for those Minebea motors along with the Mabuchi SF-266SA. The Minebea are 15mm square and the Mabuchi is 18mm square. Both are very quiet and power

Yes , no caps with the 15mm Minebea. For the Mabuchi you are looking at, its an SH and not an SA so it’s possible that the ones you are looking at are made without the caps. The only way to know for s

Drill bits for Grab Irons
Joe Do you have any pictures of your setup. Your details are great but a few pictures would help make it a bit clearer, at least for me. 😉

Resistance soldering
If you wind up deciding you want a resistance unit, I actually have two, get at least a 200 watt unit. It will heat joints much more quickly and it will be much more versatile. PBL and American Beauty

Thinning Floquil Paints
Lacquer thinner works well and you can control the the drying time by getting fast drying or medium drying thinner. I have been using xylol for the past 50 years. If you are interested here is a post

I do miss Floquil though especially for painting wooden buildings but I am trying to use the safer paints. I will typically spray on a lite coat of a solvent based primer and that greatl reduces the c

Cricut Maker Questions
Alan, there is a group called Modeling with the Cricut Explorer that seems to be geared towards the model railroader. Below is the link. I believe this is the one Mike was referring to. https://www.fa
