Choose the NO MAIL option

Steve,
On Yahoo I normally selected and read messages at the site with no e-mail
being sent to my mail box. Is this option available at HOn3@groups.io?

MCG de Oliveira

yes you can set the no-mail option.
Click on your subscription and down the list is no mail.
set that and your done.

This Group displays posts differently

Steve Hatch

This list is different  than the old list in the way it displays messages for reading.
Each reply goes underneath the original poster.
So to read the replies, you click on the mesaage and scroll down reading all the replies to that message.
You can post photos and messages just like the old list.
Easy.

Old Pharts Duck Under

Mark Kasprowicz

I posted a few questions about duck unders on the old group before Christmas. With the advice ringing in my ears I've completed this vertical lifting section using four 28" desk runners. It has counter-weights so it can be stopped at any point between top and bottom, the electrical feed will simply be via hard wiring and I have still to add the 'over the edge' protection which, because I run many locomotives with 'stay alives', cannot simply be a power cut off. But it works and is easy to lift and lower and, best of all, no more scalping. Mark K (BTW to those who have observed that my carpentry is not 5 star I will reply that if I can make it, so can anyone!)

Yes.  Under this message, click on "Change your subscription" and you'll go to a page where you can set any of a number of email delivery options, include "No mail."

The Date

Steve Hatch

Over on the right at the top of the messages is the word date.
If you click on that word then the messages reverse from top to bottom.
So one way or the other puts the New messages at the start or the end of the messages your choice

Your First Post

Steve Hatch

Your first post is moderated but that's all.  Every post after the first one is unmoderated.

That way I can stop the spammers but let everyone on the list.
Have fun

Re: The Date

Joe Nichols Jr

The daily digest option looks the same.  Is the plan to duplicate post to both IO and Yahoo or to set a date in the future to drop one of the groups?  Double posting is only going to be tolerable for a finite time.

Yes the intention is to move it all here but it will take a bit of time to accomplish it all.

I'm working on it.

Not sure if someone has mentioned it on this group, but other groups have stated that Jim Vail just passed away.

RIP Jim.

Editing Posts

Steve Hatch

One of the things I like the best on Groups.io is the ability to edit your posts AFTER you send them
You can click-up your post and under "More" hit edit and you can fix any Glaring errors you notice.
That's correct...after it's already sent you can edit your message.

Oh no!  RIP Jim.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Jim face to face, but spent some time talking with him over email.  Our hobby has lost another great one!
