you mentioned using only one tender truck for power pickup. They are opposite polarity. I use a foam cradle and with the engine upside down use clip leads from my programming track to each

George,
I do not see why not. Provided there is enough clearance for the underside of the circuit board not to foul any metal parts then something like a sugar cube speaker would allow you a few

Re: Blackstone C19 tender modification question
You can get a somewhat lower profile shell with the stock electronics. These two oil bunkers are al low as you can get over everything.

That shouldn't have caused the decoder to smoke - it's a simple short! Perhaps a spike in the supply but then why not the whole decoder, just the motor circuit. I'd ask Soundtraxx what they make of

I installed 705’s on the pilots of my 6 brass HOn3 steam loco’s. I also found them tight using a pick to uncouple with my 714’s. I do have facing siding drops and picks, but the 705/714 work

Re: Kadee 705'
Bruce: I like the way they look but I am not happy with the way they interface together with the older 714 . I use picks to uncouple and the 705 has such details and is so small ( couple so close)

Stuff happens. It sounds as if the decoders motor output has failed. Having said that I am at a loss to figure out what you could have touched while wheel cleaning that could have done this. Nor why

When applying direct DC to a Blackstone loco when I needed to burn off the oil, I always slipped some stripped wire insulation over
