Re: Letting the smoke out B.S. # 456
I had one of the first run #455 post wreck and #461 both had the issue until I sent them to Blackstone for a remotor.
Still waiting for the new engines and re-run of any rolling stock

Re: Campell Howe Truss bridge
Thanks for the input, John and Jeff. I figured the 16' width would work since I'll be running K's and narrow gauge Bachmann 80 ton Shays.

Re: Letting the smoke out B.S. # 456
That’s great Don.
It was weird on mine, no matter what I did it would always start jerking again and giving the error codes. Put it back on DC to burn off, it’d work for a while and repeat again.

I have 2 female mini connectors with a wire attached that I plug on each outside pin. Then connect my power to the wires. I even take the plate off the bottom & shim up the drivers with toothpicks

I have 2 early Blackstone K-27's. One needed to be re-motored one has not. Let it run 20 minutes on DC and see if that helps. It took a while for it stopped needing to be run on DC to burn

I’ve had three engines with that issue...and the only way o got rid of it was to replace the motor. I got the replacement motor mechanism from Blackstone when I did this.

Letting the smoke out B.S. # 456
I have any early run BS 456 that has the over oiling issue. I have let the smoke out on several occasions.
My questions are, How often does this need to be done? & how long to run it to de-smoke it?

You might try Sketchup. There is still a free version out there (I believe that the 2017 version will go to the free version after 30 days, if you didn't want the web version).
