Brian:
I have about 400 pieces of brass and I could not keep them all straight so I put a small sticker on the bottom of the locomotive and tender and one on the bottom of the box.  I also have a spread sheet in my computer that reflects all the numbers and data for each locomotive.
Use the KISS method

Subject: [HOn3] hon3 collection labelling

I need some suggestions. I have enough of an HOn3 roster that a couple shelves of a Greenway Products display case are full. I have the info about each loco in an excel file with an item number for each loco. So the issue I need suggestions for is how do you like to label the individual locos for identification if they are on display in the case away from their boxes? I know for some of you this is not an issue because you can identify the makers on sight. But I am still learning to identify them and also thinking about the future if my wife or someone else had to handle the collection as it grew (hopefully someday to a second Greenway case).....I have tried string tags and also sticker circles on the bottom of the loco or tender but I am not really happy with either. I was thinking about putting velcro on the front edge of the shelf and using little velcro number tags at the shelf position, but I hate to cover the cherry wood of the Greenway case....

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Hi Wes;

Send me your snail mail address and I will send you the plans and instructions.  I just want to confirm that the kit is in HO.  We have a different numbering system for the kits.

I just bought a Trout Creek Engineering/Timber Creek Models D&RGW 300 Series 30' Boxcar. From what is printed on the box it must be kit #901 - less t/c.

It came without plans and instructions. Does anyone have a set of instructions/plans that you can either email to me or make a copy and mail to me. I will cover the cost if you mail it to me.

Thanks for the help,
Wes

Hi Bill,

Mucho Ditto on Evans Designs.

I like their 3V led system which simplifies lighting models.

I also make use of their remote control dimmer and have 3 LED buses on my modules.

Here is a nighttime picture which shows using only these SMD type 3V leds  on an SS Ltd boiler house.

Cheers,
George

So, I found this link
(https://www.ebay.com/itm/C0402WM-20pcs-Pre-soldered-micro-WARM-WHITE-0402-SMD-Led-0-1mm-Copper-Wired/253141727000?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D58646%26meid%3D164ca4c8b88b4fe9878aabf7837696b0%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D323795012357%26itm%3D253141727000&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851)
once I knew what I was looking for.  It's for 20 0402 package LEDs
prewired and includes 20 resistors (of an unknown value) for 9-18 V
operation for $12.99 with free shipping.

This seems like a good deal on the right LED.  Since I've never done
this before, can someone confirm this is the right item?

Thanks
