Alan, if I still lived there photos and meas. would already be in your in basket!  You'd think there would be somebody in the area to help ya out.  How about the guys at Narrow Gauge Colorado?
give them a shout.  or maybe the Caboose folks in Lakewood-that's just a couple of miles from Golden, where the diesel is located...then of course is the Colorado Model RR Museum!  Check their stuff out on YouTube.  see: Railroad Line Forums - D&RGW 50 - Detail Drawings (railroad-line.com)
