Does anyone know what driver diameter the USRA 0-8-0's had? (I'm assuming
this is the prototype for the Life-Like model.) I'm curious to know if this
model would be a candidate for kitbashing an SP

Re: What steam engines have you detailed/kitbashed/scratchbuilt?
About 25 years ago, I stripped an AHM USRA 0-6-0, re-equipped it with
the valve gear & "small" flanges, and redetailed it as CB&Q G-5 class
506. This entailed mounting Cary cuckoo clock headlights

I'm currently working on a 40-class 2-8-0 for the M&A, ex-NYC. I started with
an IHC 2-8-0 and sofar have sufficiently mangled the boiler to the point where
I can put the new sand dome and steam dome

I don't think so. Roco is a new vendor for LL. The next run should be larger,
but still from Roco.

Another rumor has it (and this one may be more accurate) that the 0-8-0
was started (in China) before the 2-8-8-2, but the 2-8-8-2 was finished
first. It just may be China does not have the knowledge

I would have to wonder about the reason for this. I can't see any benefit
for LifeLike subcontracting Roco for the initial run, unless Roco has some
expertise that the Chinese subcontractors don't

Wait,
are we buying this stuff for collecting or for running.
Look what happened to the brass, now that we start getting something
