For Sale Triton Hotlips Tweezers, Upgrade for Micro Mark Resistance Soldering unit

SP4149

Last Year I was able to acquire several Triton Hotlips tweezers with and without internal off/on switches, many need carbon electrodes.

Triton Hotlips units were marketed to car repair shops, were simple and easy to use,  The tweezers with carbon electrodes required the high power( 6.2 volt) terminals.  The brass. wire electrodes work on low power, 3.1 volts.

Currently MicroMark sells the same (Triton clone) transformer with a pair of disposable tweezers ($60), You can upgrade the Micro-Make™ Resistance Soldering Set Super Value Package with these tweezers.

TRITON HOTLIPS TWEEZERS

I am offering used Triton Hotlips tweezers (w/o On/Off switch) with carbon electrodes in working condition for $50 plus shipping.

Very lightly used Triton Hotlips tweezers (with internal On/Off switch) with carbon electrodes in excellent condition for $70 plus shipping.

I am offering used Triton Hotlips tweezers (w/o On/Off switch) with out electrodes in otherwise condition for $30 plus shipping.

10% off on purchase of two or more Triton Hotlips tweezers, 25% off on purchase of five or more Triton Hotlips tweezers

These are the handpieces originally designed for the Triton transformers.  They will work with other RS units of 300 watts or greater, work best with 4.5 volts AC output or greater.

Paypal accepted with 3% fee.  Shipping USPS Priority Mail at cost.

FS - End of Year leftovers - Resistance soldering equipment inc. Hotip 200 Watt units with tweezers.

SP4149

This summer I was able to acquire several Hotip 200 and 300 watt units with handpieces and Triton Hotlips tweezers and American Beauty handpieces

These were very popular items and only used Hotip H-101A (brown label) units remain.

PBL sells the new Hotip units for close to $700, including the carbon probe $165 and the Tweezers $155.

A basic 200 watt Hotip unit with just tweezers would be over $500, if they sold it that way without the probe.  I have used Hotip RS units for over 40 years and have used the probe 3 times.

PBL does not use the Contact Inc product descriptions to specify the accessories and has been slow to supply electrodes.

I do not stock replacement Hotip parts, but Contact, Inc. the manufacturer, has been able to fill requests directed to them

Sales of previously owned Hotip units continued this fall.  I have just the following left:

Hotip 200 watt transformers

Hotip H-101A 200 watt unit (older Brown label) transformer with Hotip tweezers for                $240

Hotip H-101A 200 watt unit (older Brown label) transformer only for                                        $180

TRITON HOTLIPS TWEEZERS

I am offering used Triton Hotlips tweezers (w/o On/Off switch) with carbon electrodes in working condition for $50 plus shipping.

Very lightly used Triton Hotlips tweezers (with internal On/Off switch) with carbon electrodes in excellent condition for $75 plus shipping.

10% off on purchase of two or more Triton Hotlips tweezers, 25% off on purchase of five or more Triton Hotlips tweezers

These are the handpieces originally designed for the Triton transformers.  They will work with other RS units of 300 watts or greater, work best with 4 volts AC output or greater.

For the Big Boys Models (1/4", 1/2", 3/8" scales)  needing extra power I have:

used American Beauty  500 watt transformers for $200 and an American Beauty 1000 watt unit with carbon electrode tweezers for $300.

Paypal accepted with 3% fee.  Shipping USPS Priority Mail at cost.

Guys:

About Facebook.  Just stating a fact that there is more model train action than there is on Groups.io.  I'm not endorsing FB.   They are run and managed by a bunch of horses asses. I have managed to keep most of their BS off my feed, so FB modeling is an enjoyable experience for me.

If you don't like FB, no need to reply.

Happy modeling,

Re: [RepowerAndRegear] [HO-Steam] End of the Road for Yahoo Groups

SP4149

Ed,

After Dec 15th lists on groups.io will continue to send e-mail messages to members with valid e-mail addresses.  Because some mail providers have been flagging some groups.io list subscribers as spam generators or e-mail bouncers (mail not deliverable); groups.io is upgrading and adding a new mail server to increase the reliability of e-mail delivery.  Finally many of the YG  member  lists have fallen into the hands of spammers which has affected some of us who used the same e-mail addresses for lists on YG as well as groups.io.  After Dec 15th those compromised YG lists of members will disappear and that source of spam will be gone.

Other than increased reliability, groups.io list subscribers who get messages and digests via e-mails should see no disruption of service after Dec 15th.

I suppose my confusion may have arisen from the fact that while I have posted and replied sometimes after logging in to the group and threads, most of my reading and replying is via my Yahoo email account. Do I understand incorrectly that after Dec 15, group posts will no longer appear as eMails? If so, that's OK for me.

I was planning on closing down and deleting the dormant lists on YG the end of the year.  This was to discourage attempts to resurrect the old list name instead of migrating to groups.io

Now I won't have to do that extra work as YG will be gone before the end of the year.

In the meantime groups.io is still going strong, expanding to a second mail server for enhanced service and to reduce the errant spam messaging.  My lists are free lists so still ne need yet for paid

subscriptions and all the archives from the old YG list were transferred two years ago.  You responded on the new list, you are still good to go.  No change.

You will see consternation among those who clung to the corpse of the YG lists all this time.  They missed the chance to transfer to groups.io, actually several chances.  It seems to be a sign of the time that

no matter what the subject a large number refuse to believe, even after the fact.  A year after YG purged the archives, some YG faithful still think that they can be copied to a new list.

Hi Ed and all.

This is somewhat off core, but very relevant to our members and groups.

I have the same real distaste for Faceache - wouldn't touch them with a sterilised teenager, but Google is a great, wide-field assistance and advisory on any topic you care to name. Very, very useful and ultra inexpensive.. And you can control them.

In fact in the number of years which I have been using them, they have never missed providing an answer for me, on anything. That was, until last night when I queried a Dave Brubeck concert in Germany around 1960 to find information on the person to whom the concert was apparently dedicated. They *admitted* that they could not find *any* information!

(I hitchhiked 200 miles to hear Dave in Wellington, New Zealand about 1962, and I actually shook hands with him after the concert! Sorry - but how's that's really off- topic!)

OK - back to my overnight train groups and emails.. And Thanks Auditor..

(Firefox is great, too..)

Cheers.
