Actually the zamac import was a Sakura, a beautiful model that came with the valve gear.  These go for very high prices when you can find one these days.

Also for the Varney Little Joe, there were 3 versions of valve gear, Central Valley (I have that one), Kemtron, and yep, Varney.  Central Valley also made valve gear for the English Yardbird. Kemtron also made valve gear for Mantua switchers.  I missed out on the Kemtron kit for Mantua once.  I do have a Kemtron valve gear set for a switcher, but have no clue what it is for.  It almost looks like Mantua, but not quite.

There was also a Zamac imported from Japan Dockside with a brass mechanism
and an all brass import as well.  The valve gear was a Kemtron part and I believe
is still in the PSC catalog.
