I am not receiving messages from my groups

Don Schick

I am in other groups and am receiving their messages. I see that mine are posting, but they are not showing up in my email. Yesterday they mysteriously started showing up in my spam folder which has never happened before in years of using this site. I got a bouncing message from one of my groups because the email went to my spam folder. I have changed nothing on my email settings. What is going on?

BTW, I did not receive that previous email either even though it posted.

Are you set to receive all messages you send to your group?

I must be because I have always received them in the past and I didn't change anything.

One of Groups.io's two email servers got blacklisted by Spamhaus and Mark is trying to sort this now. See https://beta.groups.io/g/main/topic/96394423.  Also, check your email delivery history via your subscription settings page and you can see which is the latest message to be held. Groups.io will keep trying to send the message for a while before it finally bounces it so it may be a case of being patient.

Don,

To add to Andy's reply,

Make sure to mark any groups.io message that strays into the spam folder as non-spam which should automatically move it back to the inbox and train the spam filter to not put them there; if the message still stays in the spam folder after doing so, manually move it back to the inbox.  Never delete a groups.io message while it's in the spam folder as it will tell the filter it was spam after all.  I would monitor the spam folder more closely for the next few days until the issues are resolved.

Also, if you have access to your spam filter settings and it has a whitelist or safe senders list option, add an entry in there for groups.io.

Cheers,
Christos

Thanks for the tip on adding the domain to the whitelist, and the warning about one of the groups.io servers.  I have regular problems when I send messages to my groups, my ISP (Earthlink) thinks the messages from me as group owner to me as group member are spam.  It may be because I include links in my emails. I’ve added groups.io to the list of “allowed domains” and we’ll see if this helps.
