Owner Messages not being received or sent from group?
Chris Rickert
So, I am an owner of several groups and a member of a few others. Wednesday I noticed that I was no longer able to send an email to my groups and have it received by groups.io and then sent to my list. On Wednesday, I tried to forward an e-mail to two groups and nothing happens. I have looked at the activity logs and these e-mails do not even show up. I have tried sending several other emails and none show up.
They are being sent via outlook and I've been sending them by this method for several years with no issues. They are in my outbox which indicates they were sent. If Groups.IO is getting the messages, would they be in the activity? Or could groups.io be rejecting my messages as spam or something before they even get into the group? How can I tell? I am able to create messages and send them via the web, but this is inconvenient and I hope I can get the e-mailing to work again. Thanks, Chris Rickert

Chris, I have sent some emails to myself, with probably large photo files attached. Normally, emails post quickly, and can be found in my Sent folder. These with atachments, sent from my android phone, take awhile to get through. Until they actually get to my Inbox, they show up as bei g in my Outbox, not the Sent folder. Perhaps this is similar to what you are experiencing; they are taking some time to get through the ether. Jenny

I forgot to say, I was using my Hotmail (bow Outlook) account when this occurred. Jenny

Thanks Jenny! These emails can be text only or with attachments, they appear in my sent items. But they never appear in the groups.io group. Even days later....
I just got confirmation from my internet provider that the e-mails are leaving their system and being delivered to groups.io. Just wondering where they are going? I see nothing in the group activity log to show it was received. The emails never appear in the group messages. Chris

Does anyone else have any ideas about this issue?

There is no spam filtering on GIO, so they'd accept whatever they receive. They do check for viruses in attachments and will put those in the moderation queue when detected. Thanks Duane for that information. This confuses me then because I do not see the messages in the activity log. But my ISP gave me this trace showing the e-mails went out of their system.

Hi. I just found out that my ISP's system has marked my domain as spam and was not sending my emails out. Even though they gave me that trace. Thanks for your help!

I don't see anything in there where it connected to GIO, only the 198.162.x.x addresses. Those are private addresses used within a work-group/factory/local_network, so I suspected they weren't actually going out. Thanks for letting us know what it was. I can mark it off my list of things to look into. Duane -- The official Groups.io user documentation is in the Groups.io Help Center.
