I have one of my larger lists on premium membership. I am wondering if I really need all the extra space. Is there somewhere I can see how much space I have used and compare it to the basic membership?

You can see a summary of the space that's being used at https://groups.io/g/[Groupname]/usage, using your actual Groupname.  Te effect is pretty well described at https://groups.io/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/upgrading-or-downgrading-groups/downgrading-a-premium-or-enterprise-group
