A question on banned

Prasad

Today I ran into a post on a Yahoo group (I am only a member there) and the guy who posted it said he had for sale several expensive transceivers at ridiculously low prices. We had been seeing such spam stuff in the past on Yahoo groups. Apparently he has come back.

I surely do not want him to join any of my GIO groups. So I added his email addresses to the banned members' list of a handful of GIO groups that I manage. My intention was only to prevent him from joining my groups. I was successful in adding him to the banned list. Then I clicked on the line and it showed his member profile saying he has now become a member of the group and set to receive individual messages from the group.  I am not sure if that is how it should be.

That's normal. Don't worry; no one with that address will be allowed to participate in your group, and if you subsequently unban it, they are not automatically added.
