Any ideas how the scammer is getting in?

Without seeing the full headers, which I encourage you to send along, I would guess that they are going to an admin email.  Does the To: field look something like "main+<role>@<yourgroupname>.groups.io" ?

E.g., in the case of one of my groups, an email to the owner looks like: main+owner@cruzdcc.groups.io .

Best,

Glenn

There is no lock icon, but the Settings page will tell you, as will the absence of various other buttons that would normally allow you to make changes.

For example, if your group is locked, clicking on New Topic takes you to the home page, instead of opening a message composition window. The New button is missing from the Files page. The New Album, Add Photos, Edit Album and Delete Album buttons will be missing from Photos. If an email is sent to the group, it's bounced back with a 500-level error.

And so on...

Unlocked...since they were created prior to January 15.

No. Direct Adding people to a main group is -- and always has been -- a Premium feature.

And for the group created on Aug 4, after the trial period:
- Will I still be able to add members?
No. You will have to Invite them.

Then you'll need to upgrade to at least Premium.  It's called a Trial for a reason.

MP,
I’ve tried any way I know of, including a goopy search using the format -

search_terms Site:gio_folder_path

A loosely related #bug(?) is that I have no search box on my iPhone when in the files area - in either portrait or landscape mode.

When a group is locked, is there somewhere that a lock icon is displayed?

And just to clarify:
2. This group was created on Aug 5.  The trial period ended Sept 4, but no payment has been collected yet (presumably due to the holiday)?  If I revert to a free group, will my subgroups remain?  (I'd sure like not to have this particular group be a premium group.)
Assuming Nina is correct, they will still be there, but locked.
That's not gonna work, if people can't post new messages to the subgroups.  This is an active task force (for the next couple of months) and the subgroups are posting messages (not a lot, but I finally got everyone to post messages to the group, rather than lists of individual email addresses.
3.  I have 4 groups that were created on the last day of the Big Yahoo Migration in December.  I am planning to have them revert to free groups at the end of the one year.  Will my subgroups remain on those groups?
Yes.

Membership isn’t quite the right word since group members don’t each pay. Just one fee for the group.

See this page for the features.

Re: Anyone else seeing delayed messages today?

All day today - as moderator, I post a message to the pending file - I get a copy but it doesn't get to "pending" so it can be sent out.  Some have gotten there after a couple of hours.

Re: Searching for a word/phrase in a file/s in a folder #search

Margaert,

We also have a hierarchical structure on our Files as well and this is an inconvenience for us as well; it's an issue not only with Files, but with Photos as well; search always searches the root (& subfolders/albums) no matter where you are in the structure.

I think this should be posted in beta as a #suggestion, although some will say it's more of a #bug since the typical computer file system file/folder searches are aware of the user's current folder location.

Cheers,
Christos

If you click on PDF version, you get numbers.

I think it is odd, but...

https://groups.io/helpcenter

https://groups.io/hc/membersmanual/Groups.io_Members_Manual.pdf

If you view it as a flat page, you create an URL for the section - https://groups.io/helpcenter/membersmanual/1/working-with-files?single=true

Note that there is a Members Manual and an Owners Manual.

There was a problem yesterday morning with emails from the site not being sent promptly.  I believe it eventually caught up (~2 hours?) after Mark 'fixed' something.  He usually posts a note on beta when something like this happens, but I haven't seen anything about this.

Re: Reply To Topic Followers Only #question

Marina

It might be useful to implement this reply-to setting if a topic begins to
stray too far afield. Those who have already participated can continue to
discuss it without subsequent emails being sent to the rest of the group.
Effectively, you've muted the topic from that point forward, to avoid annoying
those who aren't interested.
Thank you again for clarifying the new feature, Bruce.

Have a nice Sunday,
Marina

I'd say close to zero if you use at least the default settings that require a meeting password and the use of a waiting room so you control who you let in.
