Okay, that's there for everyone.  It's not used unless they pay for a group or make a donation.  Since it's an account setting, there's no way to control it for others.  Won't hurt to add a card, but not needed for most people.

Are you sure you don't have Donations enabled and that's where they're seeing it?
I never turned on Donations for our group - don't ever use Stripe.  Here is a screenshot from the test, regular member's Account->Billing screen:

It only shows up under the member's Account section.  There is no Donations item on the main menu:

Is there some other place it may have been turned on by accident?

You're on the wrong page.  Use the button at the top that shows the left arrow and says Topics to get back to the Topics view.  Then go down to the topic that needs to be merged and use the drop down box to find Start Merge as the instructions say.  You don't open the topic.

It shouldn't.  It should only be visible to group owners or moderators with Billing permission since it's found under the Admin part of the menu.  Are you sure you don't have Donations enabled and that's where they're seeing it?

Files upload option still there after turning it off #bug

Chuck Palmer

I have the Files feature set so that members can View but only moderators can upload.  However, if I login as a "regular" member, the +New dropdown button is still there and lets me walk thru the steps of either creating a new folder or uploading a new file.  After browsing for the new file and selecting it, it doesn't upload anything and just returns me to the main welcome screen of our group -- leaving me, as a regular member, very confused.

Shouldn't this +New button not even be there as an option?

Question about Billing menu item

Chuck Palmer

Just wondering why this is listed on a "regular" member's Account menu?  In particular, why is there an ability for a regular member to put in their credit card info?

I just had a couple of new members ask me why there was a spot for their credit card info.  Shouldn't this only appear under a group owner's account?
Am I missing a way to turn it off so that our regular members don't confuse it with their club membership in which we take their credit card info as new members and renewals every year?

Re: New Topic Won't Post With Just an Image In the Body

Depends on your use and the audience. In our small group we know each other personally.

So if the title says...

Here's the picture of Aunt Maggie that we were looking for

And I'm the body of the message is Aunt Maggie's picture

And there you go

If you set the hashtag "Reply To" field to "Reply only to sender", any replies sent to the group will be bounced.

How can I move messages between topics?

Hello everyone,
How can I move messages between topics?

One of our members made a comment under the wrong topic. Can I move it to the correct topic which already exists?

Thanks

Yes, you could define a hashtag and change the Reply to option to 'Reply to sender' (I use #replytosender) and then just tag your messages with it.  It will set the default reply option to reply to the sender rather than the group.  It doesn't stop people additionally replying to the group but you could also moderate the hashtag and filter out unnecessary replies.

Jim has a very valid point. A note of explanation is appropriate. I know some folks rely on the Subject to be their message,
but I myself often miss that distinction; I just skim over the Subject line!

That seems a sensible limitation to me. No sensible person will open an amail
attachment with no explanation in the body of the message. It's a very coomon
way of distributing malware, with forged "From" address..

Replies to messages #messages

Coleen Wagner

Is there a way to post a new Topic message and have the replies only come back to the sender instead of the whole group? I could not find any information on this in the Help.

I sent out a message to my group asking to reply if they were getting the message (I suspected that the messages weren't reaching everyone which they aren't). All of the replies went to the whole group. People complained that I was filling up their mailbox with messages they didn't need to see.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Coleen

If I add a few words to the body along with the image, it posts.

I notice this on my android and on the window lap.

Re: Message not being received

There are reports of a major internet outage associated with Century Link. The messages in question may just be delayed in transit as a result of the outage.

If possible, you might just wait for a few hours to see if the messages arrive.

Karin -- Another thing to look for in this situation is use of a #hashtag with "no email" flag set.

Did your own posts to the group (all three of them) come back to *you* via email? If so, the assertion that you're the only one who got them seems pretty unlikely.

Bruce

Thank you for your suggestions! I'm sending the messages from the group homepage. I just checked in Admin Activity and both messages are there and nothing bounced in Subscription email delivery history. I'm still puzzled. I did send it a 3rd time and I'm getting some replies, so apparently that one went through.

Yes, you need at least one non-blank character.  I've used a full stop and changed the text colour to white so you can't see it.
