To get to the linked page click on your name in the top right-hand corner, select account. 
Select Preferences from the left-hand sidebar menu

If I remember correctly (iffy these days), these settings are done the 1st time a new subscriber touches groups.io when they have absolutely no idea what they're getting into, I know I didn't.

After tinkering around a while and they start figuring out what a great platform this is, those settings can become a distant memory.

The unfortunate part here is that an orphan group can't be a paid group
since nobody has the rights to pay. The current way still doesn't give this
group a path for help. That would seem to leave them stuck with no option
forward.

This is the case in my groups before an applicant even has confirmed his/her email-address....

And I thought I had read in Beta that the terminology had been changed in such a way that an interested party applying for membership is not called a member but a candidate for membership...

Not everyone is ignored, only those that don't own a paid group, from which Mark earns his living.  By my most recent estimate, there are almost 4.9 million user accounts on groups.io, so it makes sense to me that Mark can't be expected to interact with each one individually.  IMO, I'd rather be ignored completely than get a canned response, as Yahoo usually sent, that has nothing to do with my concern/question.

for clarification, a Digest contains the message text so there's no need to go to the Groups.io site. A Daily Summary just contains a list of topics with links to the message text on the Groups.io site.

Would I be right in thinking the subscriber you mention is receiving a digest or summary of posts? so then needs to visit the site to read the message in full?

If so, if she changes to individual messages she will receive them all with no need to log in and visit the site unless changes to settings were required

Its then just a matter of deleting those of no interest

Thankyou to all who replied, I find it unacceptable that there is no way to add another Owner, and to be ignored by the Owner of Groups.io is discraceful.

I'm pretty sure our Owner has passed away, no one has seen or heard from him in 18 months

It looks like a return to Google Groups is the only way, I never had a problem there.

If I haven't gone to the io site in a while, I get a message requesting my password. However, it also allows the option to get a link sent to my email address of record, which bypasses the need to enter a password, or create a new password. I am logged in again until they decide I need to re-enter my password...then, I request the lind again! It is also possible to Save a password in your browser, so that you don't need to sign in every time. Just depends how accessible you want things to be on your computer (or device?)

The editing bar will only contain the options for the mode used to create the page.  If the person that created it was using plain text that becomes the editing mode.  You'd need to recreate it in HTML for those options to become available.

Rachel -- There is no repost function, but the same objective can be met by slightly editing the poll question.

Find the poll in your message archive and select "Edit Poll" from the More menu at bottom right. Preface the poll question with "REPOST:" (or something like that) and click the blue Update Poll button at the bottom of the page.

The poll will be sent again with an Edited tag. Not perfect, but it should still achieve what you want.

Format Bar absent when editing Wiki page

 

For most Wiki pages for the DeepSkyStacker group, when I edit the page I'm offered a formatting bar allowing me to control the content of the page.

For this one https://groups.io/g/DeepSkyStacker/wiki/22443 the format bar is blank and I can only enter plain text.

Please could someone help get this sorted out?

I'm not aware of any available calendar integrations with Skype, GoToMeeting, Facebook Live, etc. If you want groups.io to provide more flexibility in teleconferencing services you will need to post it as a #suggestion in the beta group.
