Re: VA5BNC-15 will be gently landing in Georgia
Thanks Bill
It seems like a lot of work for 50 grams of mylar and pc board but if I could see a photo of it that would be amazing.
If the solar panel survived, which is unlikely, it will return to

This bird couldn't have hardly landed in a better place in the southeast US except if it's so obvious and available that someone has already found it. I was also working on the general location this

VA5BNC-15 will be gently landing in Georgia
Hi
It looks like VA5BNC-15 started descending at about 01:00 UTC at a pretty constant rate of about 70 feet per minute. At this rate it will be on the ground in eastern Georgia by about 06:00

Hi Bill
It's a 601235 (6mm x 12mm x 35mm) rated at 220mAh and weighs in at 4 grams. For my design, that was the sweet spot of weight, size and capacity. I might have been able to use a slightly

For some reason my spam filter is discarding a lot of the messages from the GPSL list. I'll get that figured out.

Re: Seeing K7HAK11 in waterfall and copying VA5BNC15 direct on APRS here in Alabama
K7HAK-11 is now near Lexington KY....it flew about 40 km NE of Baraboo WI but probably 3 hours after sunset from my estimate so wouldn't have been visible. VA5BNC-15 flew 40 km west of you around

VA5BNC15 aprs signal
Hi Bruce,
I believe I have your signal spotted OK in the waterfall display along with all the other APRS signals on 144.390. Yours appears to have a large 300 to 500 msec TxD keydown before sending

Seeing K7HAK11 in waterfall and copying VA5BNC15 direct on APRS here in Alabama
Nice signal on VA5BNC-15 from 200 miles distance as it flies towards me. Copying it direct on 144.390 MHz and i-Gating it here. I also see K7HAK-11 in the waterfall at 300 miles distance but too weak

Images from the NearSys flight in Oregon / Idaho
I've attached one frame from the horizontal camera recording the burst at 98,331 feet. The rest of the images are near infrared images taken during the flight.

Re: GPSL 2020
Ya, the drive back from my flight was nearly 90 seconds. It would have been shorter but there was a yield sign on the way. ;-)

Looks like we have a race on our hands.
By the looks of it, Steve's floaer, K7HAK-11, will likely overtake min, VA5BNC-15, some tmie over night. His is flying 2500 metres higher and the wind is about 30 km/h faster up there. Pretty
