GBARC Digital Nets

GBARC will run a digital modulation (mode) net on the 4th Tuesday of each month.  The net will start at 8:00 pm and will be divided up into two 15 minute slots on each of two HF Frequencies (30 minutes on 10 meters and 30 minutes on 80 meters.  The net modes are determined by Net Control and will change from month to month so we can practice in many different modes. Net Control will monitor Discord for comments.  Net Control will also monitor the repeaters but Discord is the preferred method.  

 Since this is the first time we have attempted this we do not expect things to go perfectly.  

Digital Mode Net Information for 22 February 2021

Tonight we will concentrate on one mode - RTTY.  We will use the 45.5 baud which is the standard for amateur comms.   We will start in voice on our local repeater at 8pm and then net control will start transmitting an introduction message twice to allow stations to adjust their equipment.  After two messages net control will request checkins and will receive checkins after that.  Net control will then transmit the copied callsigns and listen for any additional checkins.   Since this is the first time we have attempted this we do not expect things to go perfectly.

Each segment will start with Net Control transmitting an introduction message twice to allow stations to adjust their equipment.  After two messages net control will request checkins and will receive checkins after that.  Net control will then transmit the copied callsigns and listen for any additional checkins.   Since this is the first time we have attempted this we do not expect things to go perfectly.

If there is extra time in each slot Net Control will open the net for comments.
