Bethesda/Chevy Chase Freecycle began in October 2004. We have kept tons of stuff out of the landfill. BCC FreeCycle is open to all in the BCC, Potomac and Kensington areas who want to Freecycle; something rather than throwing it away. Whether it is a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you want to get something that someone else is sending to the landfill! Nonprofit groups are welcome to participate.

BCC FREECYCLE was founded in 2004. It is not affiliated with the website which began circa 2013.

We want our group to be neighborhood oriented. Each time you post to BCC Freecycle include your map location in the subject line. Use the map HERE to determine your coordinates.  There is also a map at HTTP://

Our basic rule is: Everything posted must be free, legal and not offensive.  You may post things to give away, or ask for items.  It is nice to post a TAKEN message after you've picked something up.  Please, if you say you are going to pick something up, pick it up or let the person know.

The subject line for each message must read:

Replying to a message will go directly to the poster.

We are part of a network of online groups devoted to keeping usable stuff out of landfills. Check out Maryland FreeCycle Groups for other cities and info on the movement! E-mail for questions or improvement ideas!
