Flicka20 Annual renewal for 2022 #donation-request

Hal DeVaney

Thanks to everyone who donated.
I have closed the donation tab.
The deed is done and we no longer need any more donations.
We are good to go for another year.

cheers,

Hal

Well put and a huge thanks needs to go out to Hal, who has kept this thing rolling.  I also like the FB format and that/those groups are fun.  But if you actually need to research something specific or as a repository of the 'hive mind', the mail list server is a huge asset to the Flicka community!  Even as I also start aging out of sailing, I hope this repository continues on, the same way that I hope folks keep Flickas going for another several decades at least ;-)

Groups.io: Plans & Pricing

We have the premium account because of the large amount of media stored.
I have been handling it since we first migrated to groups.io.
I own the Stripe account for accepting donations and process keeping everything up to date. It's just easier to use the credit card method in this case. Don't worry of feel bad  if you are reluctant to pay online, We have more than enough contributions to cover it.

I'll turn the donation tab off as soon as we receive enough to cover the renewal.

I started this group way back 15 years or so when it was a free Yahoo group. Groups.io took over and here we are.
I have enjoyed doing this over the years, but since I sold Kittiwake to Jamie several years ago, and at 85 its time to pass the ownership (ie financial) baton to someone younger and more active than I am. We need someone who will manage and make improvements as necessary.

Antonio Martinez  also an owner/moderator. But I have the primary account with groups.io and the Stripe account for accepting donations. If anyone is interested Antonio or myself can make him or her a moderator.

Fortunately, this group is pretty much self sustaining and never has any problems.  It's biggest value is the huge volume of archived posts and pictures that are of great value to anyone interested in the Flicka. We now have 1048 members.

I thank everyone who participates in our forum and all are welcome.

I suppose this goes to Hal Delaney: I find this discussion group very helpful, and will be happy to contribute. However, I don’t feel comfortable doing anything financial online. If I am offered a mechanism to contribute, I will do so.
